Earlier today,
The incoming Ambassador to Kenya, also accredited to Uganda, Somalia, DRC Congo, UNEP, and UN-Habitat, demonstrated a commitment to cultural exchange by paying a courtesy visit to the International Pencak Silat Federation (Persilat) in Jakarta, Indonesia, before departing for Nairobi this week.
During the visit, the Ambassador engaged in productive discussions with Mr. Teddy, the Secretary General, and Mr. Benny, the Chairman of Persilat, at their headquarters. As a gesture of goodwill and to promote Pencak Silat in Kenya and the broader East Africa region, Persilat generously offered body protectors and uniforms.
The Mombasa county pencak silat Association through The National Federation of Pencak Silat Kenya has expressed their profound appreciation to Persilat and the incoming Ambassador for prioritizing the sport's development in Kenya, recognizing it as a valuable bridge for strengthening ties between the two nations.
