Today, Radio Bayana had the joy of hosting Annastacia Muema, a renowned Catholic music artist, just weeks after the release of her 41st song, Yu Karibu.
It was a grace-filled moment as she shared her musical journey, faith, and inspiration behind her latest release. Her dedication to evangelization through music continues to touch many hearts and strengthen the faith of the Christian community.
We sincerely thank Annastacia for honoring our Radio Bayana studios with her presence. We wish her continued blessings in her mission of spreading the Gospel through music.

*Three Days MYM Seminar ends in Kipini Sub parish.*
The MYM Seminar , which began on Thursday 16th, has successfully come to a close today. Throughout these days, participants reflected deeply on the annual theme, “United in Christ, Together in Mission,” embracing the call to grow in faith and service.
The seminar brought together junior youth from Witu Parish and Kipini Sub-Parish, creating a vibrant space for spiritual formation, fellowship, and shared mission. As they return to their respective communities, they carry with them renewed zeal and a stronger commitment to live as witnesses of Christ in their daily lives.

Easter Joy in St Joseph Allamano parish Adu. Today Adu Parish was filled with joy and thanksgiving as the Christian community gathered for a beautiful Eucharistic celebration presided over by Very Rev. Fr. Urbanus. The Holy Mass marked a significant moment of spiritual growth, witnessing the expansion of the Church through the Sacraments.
During the celebration, several candidates were baptised and warmly welcomed into the Christian family, while others received the Holy Eucharist for the first time. It was a powerful sign of faith and a testament to the vibrant life of the parish.
In his homily, Fr. Urbanus encouraged the newly baptised and first communicants to remain steadfast in their faith, deepening their relationship with Christ through prayer and active participation in the life of the Church.
The entire parish community expressed gratitude for this milestone and pledged continued prayers and support for the candidates and their families as they journey forward in their Christian vocation.

Marafa Deanery in the Catholic Diocese today held an induction seminar for its newly elected leaders, marking an important step in strengthening leadership and service within the deanery. The session provided guidance on roles, responsibilities, and the spirit of servant leadership.
During the seminar, the official handing over ceremony also took place, symbolizing continuity and commitment as the outgoing team entrusted leadership to the new office bearers. We pray for God’s wisdom and guidance upon the new leaders as they begin their mission.

Catechists Begin Third Semester Formation in Malindi Diocese

By Fr Kimbi

The Catechists Training Program in the Diocese of Malindi continues to bear great fruit as our dedicated catechists deepen their formation and renew their mission in the Church.
Today marks the beginning of the 3rd Semester for catechists drawn from five deaneries, gathered at the Pastoral Centre in Malindi. Their commitment reflects the vital role catechists play in our parishes and mission stations—faithfully handing on the Gospel, nurturing Christian communities, and walking closely with the people of God.
We also commend the Marafa Deanery for organizing their own in-service training earlier, a clear sign of local initiative and zeal for ongoing formation.
During the homily, the Pastoral Coordinator Fr Denis encouraged the catechists to imitate Nicodemus—who moved from being a hidden follower of Christ to a bold and courageous disciple. In the same way, catechists are called not only to teach the faith but to witness it openly and courageously in today’s world.
Let us continue to support and pray for our catechists, that they may remain steadfast and joyful heralds of the Good News.

Catholic educators across Kenya were challenged to lead ongoing educational reforms with a firm foundation in faith and holistic formation during the 12th Catholic Private Educational Institutions Association of Kenya (CaPEIA-K) Conference, held at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa from April 7th to 10th, 2026.

Delivering the keynote address, Rt. Rev. Henry Juma, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kitale, called on school leaders to align academic excellence with spiritual and moral development, emphasizing that Catholic education must shape the whole person while responding proactively to changes in Kenya’s education system.

The conference, convened by the Catholic Private Educational Institutions Association of Kenya, brought together bishops, clergy, education officials, and heads of Catholic institutions to reflect on the theme “Catholic Schools: Rooted in Faith, Rising with Purpose.”

Faith as the Strategic Foundation

Bishop Juma underscored that Catholic education must remain anchored in Christ as the source of truth and wisdom, noting that its mission extends beyond the transmission of knowledge to the integral formation of learners.

“Catholic education has always gone beyond the transmission of knowledge. It is fundamentally about forming the whole person—intellectually, spiritually, morally, physically, and socially,” he said.

He described education as a transformative encounter that nurtures human dignity and awakens purpose, echoing the teachings of Pope Francis, who views education as “an act of love.”

Responding to a Changing Education Landscape

Addressing the ongoing implementation of the Competency-Based Education (CBE) system in Kenya, Bishop Juma noted that the reforms require not only structural adjustments but also a shift in mindset among educators.
