Digital literacy is the foundation the digital economy is built on. Without it every other effort — the skills, the tools, the platforms — operates without a base.
Most people confuse digital literacy with digital activity. Being active online is not the same as being literate in the digital economy. Digital literacy is understanding how the digital economy is structured, how value is created within it, how opportunities are identified, and how individuals position themselves to access those opportunities consistently and competitively.
Without digital literacy participation in the digital economy remains surface level. You can be present without being productive. You can be active without being effective. The difference between the two is not effort. It is literacy.
Building genuine digital literacy is the first and most important investment any digital economy participant can make. The Digital Economy Community is where that investment begins. Click the link below to join.
