๐จ EDUCATION CRISIS IN MARYANNE: CHILDREN TRAVEL OVER 10KM TO ACCESS SCHOOL
MARYANNE, TURKANA CENTRAL โ Residents of Maryanne Village under Lodwar Township have raised concerns over the lack of a nearby school, saying the situation is forcing young children to travel more than 10 kilometres to access education.
According to residents, the community has already set aside land and provided construction materials in anticipation of a school being established. However, years have passed without the construction of a classroom.
The situation has raised concerns among parents and community members, who say the long distance to school is creating a major barrier to education for children in the area.
Residents are now calling on the relevant authorities and education stakeholders to intervene and address the situation by facilitating the establishment of a school closer to the community.
