This International Youth Day, Tatu Rugby brought together 92 high school students for an inspiring mentorship workshop themed “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations”, focused on helping young people see what’s possible - on and beyond the pitch.
From conversations on careers, goal setting, and mental wellbeing to gender inclusion, sport, and positive decision-making, students heard from an incredible panel including Olympian and Kenya 7s international Vincent Onyala, DHL’s Teddy Salano, mental wellness specialist Griffin Chege, Program Manager Arsenath Oketeh, and Tatu Rugby alumni Lilian Adhiambo and Bruce Brian.
Their stories offered something powerful: proof that where you start doesn’t have to define where you go.
Our alumni also shared their journeys from Tatu Rugby to tertiary education and competitive rugby, showing how sport, education and mentorship can create pathways to new opportunities.
Because when young people are given the right support, they can see beyond what is possible today - and start building what comes next.
