A NEW ERA FOR JUNIOR RUGBY 7s

DBA Africa is proud to announce the launch of Kenya’s first-ever U18 7s Academy, an elite programme built to identify, develop, and connect the next generation of Kenyan rugby talent.

Target Athletes: Up to 30 high-potential 16 and 17-year-old players.

Selection Process: Players must be nominated to trial via their coach, followed by a final selection by an experienced 7s committee.

The academy will provide players with an environment designed to help them reach their full potential, both on and off the pitch. It will develop their skills, build character and leadership, and connect them with opportunities that can change their future both during and post school.

Kenya has incredible talent, it’s time to build the junior pathway to match it.

We were proud to have hosted lily and theahorsley in Kenya during their summer volunteering experience with DBA Africa.

During their time with us, they supported different parts of our work, including planning activities, coaching lacrosse and joining sessions at the Kibera Girls Soccer Academy.

Their time in Kenya was filled with new experiences, shared learning, plenty of laughs and meaningful connections with the young people and communities they spent time with.

Thank you, Lily and Thea, for bringing your energy, enthusiasm and open minds to DBA Africa. We were grateful to have you as part of the DBA Africa family and hope you took home some unforgettable memories from your time in Kenya.

Flashback to Chipu lifting the U20 Barthés Cup on Tuesday.

A huge shoutout to our DBALacrosseUG🇺🇬 players who came down to support Kenya and their DBA brothers. Different sports. Different Countries. One family. 🇺🇬🇰🇪

Brilliant to see Forest continuing his incredible comeback after 7 months out of playing 15s. 💪🏾

To see Rohan , one of the youngest in the squad and an DBA Africa Rugby Academy player, who has recently left school and still has two more years in the setup, was brilliant. Also check out Rohan Shah too, this kid is something else on and off the pitch.

Also great to see a blast from the past in Tsuyoshi Monda , a member of the Simba Rugby EPC & Academy who made the very first DBA Futures Cup Dream Team back in 2023 who has recently returned from a rugby scholarship in the UK.

And, of course, not forgetting our very own DBA Head of Rugby & Tournaments, Wamae Philip , who was running the behind the scenes for Chipu as Team Manager.

The first half of 2026 has shown the incredible impact of the Athletics Race Fund (ARF). By removing financial barriers like race entry fees, travel, accommodation, and nutrition, we’ve helped 19 athletes compete in six major events helping athletes compete, grow and achieve their goals.

JUST 24 HOURS TO GO 🇰🇪 🇬🇧

The countdown is officially over. Tomorrow, we welcome KingsleyDevon from the UK for our inaugural DBA Africa sports tour.

We are incredibly excited to host 32 rugby and netball players for an action-packed 12 days of sport, friendship, and cultural exchange. It also gives us the massive pleasure of reuniting with our very own DBA Africa Rugby Academy player 𝕯𝖆𝖗𝖑𝖙𝖔𝖓 who is on a rugby scholarship at Kingsley.

We would like a great home crowd to bring the energy, so please come out and support both teams. Rugby fixtures above.

Keep an eye out for the full netball schedule too but their first game is hosted and against Hillcrest International School on Saturday 4th July at 10am.

Let’s show them some true Kenyan hospitality on the sidelines. See you there.

Runners-up at the 2026 Turi 7s.

Our u15 team put together an outstanding tournament, winning six matches to reach the Cup Final and finishing as runners up. A performance that reflected their hardwork , resilience and teamwork.

We are proud of every player, coach and supporter who made this journey possible. Thank you to the Turi 7s organizers for providing a platform where young athletes can learn ,compete and grow .

Nick Williams was a total breath of fresh air during his visit to Kenya.

Straight from the airport with bags of kit and equipment, Nick dove right into our DBA Nairobi programme and visited our academy athletes at home in Kibera. His week was packed with impactful Kibera outreach, an incredible coaching clinic for Nairobi academy coaches, and a trip to the Ndume 7s at Pembroke to watch the DBA players in action!

Nick’s deep desire to ‘give back’ is an inspiration to us all, and his insights will elevate our coaching standards for a long time to come.

Proud of our Sweat Squad athletes who took on the challenge of the Nairobi City Marathon and represented DBA Africa with determination, resilience, and heart.

A special congratulations to Vivian Jelangat (8th) and Sharon Kipchumba (10th), whose outstanding performances secured top-10 finishes and a combined KSh 535,000 in prize money.
