Today marks a significant milestone towards long-term sustainability.

We officially launched Huru Garden, a bold step forward in strengthening our institutional resilience, diversifying our resources, and building a more sustainable future for our work and the communities we serve.

Through the Sustainable Model Programme, supported by DRC and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. We are building an additional pathway to diversify resources, strengthen organisational sustainability, and reduce long-term dependence on traditional project-based funding.

This milestone would not have been possible without the commitment and partnership of the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.

We are deeply grateful to DRC, DANIDA and other partners for believing in a model that invests in long-term institutional sustainability and empowers local organizations to build lasting impact.

This September 7, we’re bringing you the full Huru Garden experience culture, entertainment, family fun, food and unforgettable moments, all in one destination.

From 8:00 AM–1:00 PM, invited guests will experience vibrant Burundi-speaking drums, Turkana cultural folk dances and Burundi cultural dance performances as we officially launch Huru Garden.

And when the sun goes down, the celebration continues!
