A New Team Has Been Formed π₯
The Story of Bondo Community Rugby.
In the heart of Bondo, where dreams are often shaped by resilience and determination, a vision
was born,a vision to unite young people through discipline, passion, and opportunity. That
vision became Bondo Community Rugby.
The story of the club did not begin today. Years ago, two determined sports lovers, Irene Otieno and John Nandwa, saw the hidden talent and untapped potential within the youth of Bondo. They believed rugby could become more than just a game; it could become a tool to change lives, build confidence, and create a stronger community. With passion and sacrifice, they introduced rugby to the area and planted the first seed of what would later become a movement.
However, like many community dreams, the journey was not easy. Lack of support, limited
resources, and financial struggles slowly caused the team to fade away. The dream seemed silent for a while, but it was neverforgotten.Today, that dream is rising again.Driven by passion for the community and love for the game, Raymond Ocholla has taken the bold step to resurrect Bondo Community Rugby with the support of Nelson Oromo and Omar Kuchanja. Together, they are rebuilding not just a rugby club, but a family and a safe space for young people to grow, dream, and succeed.
The club was created to give both boys and girls a platform to discover their abilities, stay away
from negative influences, and build a future through teamwork, discipline, leadership, and hard work. In a community where many talented youths struggle to find opportunities, rugby has
become a light, teaching young people to believe in themselves and push beyond their limits.
Every training session carries a deeper meaning. It is about building confidence in a young girl who never thought she belonged in sports. It is about giving a young boy direction, purpose, and a sense of belonging. It is about creating leaders, role models, and responsible member
