◆2021年の大会開催の断念について
これまで2010年より開催してきました「アイアンマン70.3セントレア知多半島ジャパン」について、新型コロナウィルスの感染拡大の中ではありますが、これまで何らかの形で開催出来ないか、模索を続けて参りました。
しかし、依然として愛知県ほか全国での緊急事態宣言の発出も続き、開催に臨める時機も尽きようとしています。
2021年大会への期待の声も多数頂いており、大変心苦しいのですが、2021年シーズンの大会開催を見送り、2022年以降の再開を目指すこととしたいと思います。
感染症が1日でも早く収束するように、私たち自身が、各々できる限りの努力を続ける事が、アイアンマンをはじめとするトライアスロン大会の再開につながります。今しばらくは、収束のために力を注ぎましょう。
また知多半島でお会いしましょう！

◆About cancellation of 2021 race.
IRONMAN 70.3 Centrair Chita Peninsula Japan, which has been held since 2010, is in the midst of the spread of COVID-19 infection, but we have been searching for ways to hold it.
However, the state of emergency is still being issued in Japan, and the time to hold it is about to run out.
We have received many expectations for the 2021 race, and it is very difficult for us to make that decision, but we would like to forgo the 2021 season and aim to resume it after 2022.
We will continue to do our best to resolve the infectious disease as soon as possible, which will lead to the resumption of triathlon races such as IRONMAN. For the time being, let's focus on that convergence.
See you on the Chita Peninsula again!

◆ミドルディスタンス部門で1位に！

日本で唯一のトライアスロン専門誌『Triathlon Lumina』において、ユーザー約3万人を対象に行われた「2011年～2020年に出場したレースの中でいちばん良かった大会は？」という内容のアンケートでアイアンマン70.3セントレア知多半島ジャパン大会がミドルディスタンス部門で1位を獲得しました！
「現在では日本唯一のアイアンマンレース。とにかくお祭り。アクセスが最高に良い。」「2020年、コロナで軒並み中止になる中、頑張って運営してくれました。」「2019年に参加したときは、ランのコースの途中でウサギが飛び出してきたこともありました。エイドやアワードパーティも充実していて満足感の高い大会。」「エイドが充実している。競技説明会やパーティの進行がスムーズ。」といった嬉しいコメントも寄せられています！

IRONMAN 70.3 Centrair Chita Peninsula Japan was ranked as "The best race you participated in from 2011 to 2020?" in the middle distance category on the questionnaire of Triathlon Lumina, the only triathlon magazine in Japan!

2020 IRONMAN 70.3 Centrair Chita Peninsula Japan has taken measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection. Thanks to the cooperation of the athletes and staff, we were able to finish without any infected person. We will continue to hold races where you can participate safely.

2020年10月18日に開催した「アイアンマン70.3セントレア知多半島ジャパン」（主催：アイアンマン70.3セントレア知多半島ジャパン実行員会）で発生した事故、ならびに競技内容の変更について報告いたします。
7時28分に第1種目のスイム競技から競技を開始しました。10時頃、2種目目となるバイクパートにおいて選手3名が関係する接触事故が発生しました。1名が重体、1名が重傷、1名が軽症となる重大な結果に至りました。
救急救命活動を優先するために審判団の判断で競技を一旦中断し、全ての選手はコース上でしばらく待機することになりました。
実行委員会は所轄警察との協議によりバイクパートは中止とし、全選手を徐行の上、トランジションエリアに戻しランパートから再開する判断をしました。11時42分に3種目目のランパートから競技を再開しました。
事故に遭った選手たちへの初期段階の応急救護は、現場に居合わせた医師や救急医療の専門家である複数の参加選手、大会救護班により迅速に行われました。
救命活動に携わった方々、救急隊員の皆様、そして競技の中断に整然と従った全ての選手、関係者の冷静かつ迅速な対応に心から感謝いたします。
現在、重体となった選手も意識を回復し、快方に向かっています。
事故に関する調査を行うと共に、関係機関の調査等にも最大限に協力します。さらに、私たちは安全な競技の実施について検討して参ります。
なお、記録発表に向けての精査、世界選手権参加資格（スロット）の付与については、ワールドトライアスロンコーポレーションにより、作業が進められていることを併せてお知らせします。

During the Lixil RONMAN 70.3 Centrair Chita Peninsula Japan held on October 18 and operated by IRONMAN 70.3 Centrair Chita Peninsula Japan Executive Committee, a licensee of IRONMAN, race officials were made aware of a crash involving three athletes during the bike portion of the race around 10 a.m. One of the athletes suffered significant injuries requiring the race to be stopped for lifesaving activities and their transport to a nearby hospital. The other two athletes were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Officials in conjunction with first responders shut the course down and athletes were rerouted into transition where they were later able to resume the run portion of the event at 11:42 a.m.
We are grateful for the quick response and work of emergency personnel as well as athletes in the vicinity who as trained medical professionals provided immediate life-saving support. Thanks to their efforts, the athlete is now conscious and continuing their recovery. The well-being of our competitors is paramount, and we will continue to work with local authorities on the details of the incident. Our thoughts and concerns remain with the athlete and their family and friends, whom we will continue to support through their recovery.

表彰式の中止と公式リザルトの遅れについて
アイアンマン70.3セントレア知多半島ジャパンはバイクでの当日変更に伴い、午後2時から新舞子マリンパークで行われる授賞式は中止になりました。公式リザルト、表彰式、スロット割り振りついては後日発表する予定です。詳細については、追ってお知らせいたします。

With the race day modification to the bike portion of Lixil RONMAN 70.3 Centrair Chita Peninsula Japan, please note that the awards ceremony scheduled to happen from 2:00pm GMT+9 at Shinmaiko Marine Park has been cancelled. Athletes may also expect the official race results, awards and slots allocation to be released at a later date. Thank you for your patience and understanding and we will share more details soon.
