🥋 WHAT DOES A DAY OF PRE-GASSHUKU TRAINING LOOK LIKE? 🇯🇵
FIVE DAYS. FIVE MORNINGS. DEEPER KARATE 🔥🥋
The five-day pre-Gasshuku program is designed for karateka who want to go beyond a weekend seminar and immerse themselves in traditional Okinawan Goju-Ryu training in Japan.
Each morning begins at 9:00am with traditional Junbi Undo and kihon—preparing the body, refining fundamental movement and establishing the technical foundation for the day.
The morning then develops into focused technical training, including:
• Sanchin training and refinement
• Tensho
• Dedicated kata workshops
• Breathing, posture and body mechanics
• Traditional kihon and technical correction
• Training directed by Terauchi Kazuo Sensei and the senior instructor team
Across the five days, participants will have the opportunity to examine their karate in depth—not simply repeating movements, but developing a clearer understanding of structure, timing, power generation and the principles behind the technique.
There may also be opportunities for additional evening keiko at the local TOGKF dojo in Shiki, Kiyose and Toshima-ku, allowing participants to experience regular dojo training alongside the seminar program.
The final content will remain dynamic and will be guided by Terauchi Sensei according to the needs and grades of those training.
This is not simply a seminar schedule.
It is five days of waking up, putting on your gi and living as a full-time karateka in Japan.
Training begins 16 August 2026.
