Olympics Games Lessons Tokyo 2020 ๐คฝ๐พ๐๐พโโ๏ธ
Called to Lead Jamaica reflects on the Olympics Games and in doing so we share the lessons we have learnt, hoping it will inspire us all.
In the last few weeks, we have seen mental health in the spotlight for new reasons. Sport has woken up to the pressure and mental fatigue some of the world's greatest sports women and men are facing.
Not only is it inspiring to see people who are in the media day in day out, openly and honestly talk about their mental health, but it's encouraging to see how (most of) the media and supporters are reacting to it. While we still have a long way to go to truly break the stigma and accept mental health, in the same manner, we accept physical health, we are definitely seeing a change in attitude.
These 3 sporting heroes and role models, will have inspired a huge amount of people who are facing their own demons. Everyone and anyone can and will face mental health challenges, no matter who you are. We are all humans and we are never alone.
Thank you to Simone, Naomi and Ben for listening to your body and mind, and acknowledging you need a break. It will have an immeasurable impact on those facing mental health challenges.
