The Caribbean Drag Racing Championship (CDRC) is the region’s premier drag racing competition, a joint championship spearheaded by the Jamaica Millennium Motoring Club (JMMC). The Caribbean Drag Racing Championship (CDRC) is the region’s premier drag racing competition, a joint championship spearheaded by the Jamaica Millennium Motoring Club (JMMC), in collaboration with the Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF) and Barbados Association of Dragsters & Drifters (BADD), the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMRSC), and the Trinidad & Tobago Automobile Sports Association (TTASA). The CDRC is a closed competition event where racers are invited by their respective National Sporting Authority (ASN) to represent their country, ensuring an elite level of competition at no cost to the participants. The top 16 competitors in each class across all participating countries will then be invited to battle for supremacy at the Championship Final. The championship features two competitive classes: Pro Street (10.999 – 10.000 seconds) and Pro Race (9.999 – 9.000 seconds). Championship winners receive trophies, prize money and regional recognition, with additional winnings awarded to the champion’s National Sporting Authority (ASN). The championship is officially registered with the FiA’s National Calendar platform.

Caribbean Drag Racing Championship: August 2025 Update

The Caribbean Drag Racing Championship (CDRC) is blazing through summer with electrifying races and fierce rivalries in its two classes—Pro Street (10.999–10.000 sec) and Pro Race (9.999–9.000 sec). The 2025/26 season unites eight Caribbean nations—Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, and Trinidad & Tobago—with the Cayman Islands as a non-competing Affiliate Member.

Sanctioned by the FIA’s National Calendar, the CDRC is an exclusive, invitation-only event. Drivers, nominated by their National Sporting Authority (ASN), compete at no cost, earning points in three local qualifying events. The top 16 in each class advance to the Championship Final at Vernamfield, Jamaica, in February 2026.

Pro Street Class

The Pro Street class is a battleground for 55 drivers. Jamaica’s Kevin Jackson leads with a strong points haul from three national events. Grenada’s Fleming Kruythoff has surged to second with consistent speed, while Trinidad’s Brian Bhagwandass holds third, keeping the race tight.

Pro Race Class

In Pro Race, 30 drivers push the limits. Guyana’s Peter Daby and Grenada’s Joshua Lewis are tied for first, with Jamaica’s Ricardo Lynch just 1 point behind in third, promising a thrilling season finale.

Summer Surge

Nine qualifying events from July to September have intensified the competition. Recent races like Drag Rivals #3 in Jamaica and Test & Tune Heads-Up in St. Vincent & the Grenadines have drivers fine-tuning their machines, reshaping the standings as they vie for a top-16 spot.

Countdown to 2026

The Championship Final at Vernamfield, Jamaica, in February 2026 will be a historic showdown. The region’s fastest will compete for trophies, prize money, and ASN awards, elevating Caribbean motorsport globally.

Cayman Motoring Federation Joins Caribbean Drag Racing Championship as New Associate

The Caribbean Drag Racing Championship (CDRC) proudly announces the Cayman Motoring Federation (CMF) as its newest Associate member. The Cayman Islands now joins Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago, and Jamaica in supporting this regionally unifying motorsport initiative.

As an Associate, the Cayman Motoring Federation will contribute to the continued growth and development of the CDRC’s structure, despite currently having no entrants in the Championship itself. Associates play a key role in strengthening the foundation of drag racing across the Caribbean.

Jane Scaletta, President of the Cayman Motoring Federation, shared:

“The Cayman Motoring Federation is proud to join the Caribbean Drag Racing Championship and fully supports this vital FIA-backed regional initiative. As the national sporting authority for motorsport in the Cayman Islands, we are committed to working with our Caribbean counterparts to raise the standard of drag racing, promote safety, and expand opportunities for regional and international competition.”

Chris Elliott, member of the FIA Drag Racing Commission, added:

Antigua & Barbuda Joins the Caribbean Drag Racing Championship, Expanding Regional Motorsport Unity

The Caribbean Drag Racing Championship (CDRC) is proud to announce that Antigua Pro Racing (APR) has officially joined the region’s premier drag racing competition. Antigua and Barbuda’s inclusion brings the total number of participating countries to eight, joining Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, St Lucia, St Vincent & the Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago, and Jamaica in a growing celebration of regional motorsport excellence.

Stephen Gunter, Chairman of the Jamaica Millennium Motoring Club, which spearheaded the creation of the CDRC, welcomed the newest entrant:
"We are delighted to officially welcome Antigua Pro Racing to the CDRC family. With eight countries now represented, this championship continues to strengthen its goal of uniting Caribbean motorsport communities through healthy, high-level competition."

The move marks a historic moment for drag racing in Antigua and Barbuda. Gaston A. Browne III, President of the Antigua & Barbuda Drag Racing Association (ABDRA), expressed his excitement:
"The ABDRA is thrilled to be part of this historic championship in the region. This will definitely boost motorsports development and grow our overall tourism product here in Antigua."

Facilitating Antigua’s participation is Antigua Pro Racing, the official National Sporting Authority (ASN) of Motorsports in Antigua & Barbuda, affiliated to the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). Carlo Falcone, APR President, noted:
"APR is proud to facilitate the inclusion of ABDRA in the CDRC and will continue to assist motorsport participants in reaching their goals through safety and technical training that FIA is known for."

Karl Belizaire, a member of ABDRA and APR, as well as a drag racing competitor, emphasized the importance of this regional initiative:

St. Vincent & the Grenadines Joins the Caribbean Drag Racing Championship

The Caribbean Drag Racing Championship (CDRC) proudly announces that the St. Vincent & the Grenadines Motorsport Association (SVGMA) has officially joined the championship, becoming the seventh participating country alongside Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, St. Lucia, Trinidad & Tobago, and Jamaica.

The inclusion of SVGMA marks a significant milestone in the championship’s ongoing expansion, further solidifying the Caribbean’s reputation as a premier hub for drag racing.

“The initiative by the St. Vincent Motorsport Association is backed by the Honorable Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Orando Brewster, who has pledged government support for the upcoming championship events. St. Vincent and the Grenadines' top drag racers are thrilled to compete in the Caribbean Drag Racing Championship finals, scheduled to take place in Jamaica in January 2026,” stated SVGMA.

St. Lucia Drag Racing Team Joins Caribbean Drag Racing Championship

March 6, 2025 – The Caribbean Drag Racing Championship (CDRC) proudly announces the addition of the St. Lucia Drag Racing Team (SLDRT) to its competitive lineup. St. Lucia now joins Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, and Jamaica in this premier regional motorsport series.

The initiative is supported by the St. Lucia Ministry of Youth Development and Sports which officially registered SLDRT to compete in the championship. This milestone allows St. Lucia’s top drag racers to compete regionally, with hopes of qualifying for the highly anticipated CDRC Finals in Jamaica in January 2026.

Chris Elliott, a member of the FIA Drag Racing Commission, extended his congratulations, stating, “Congratulations to the St. Lucia Drag Racing Team (SLDRT), with the support of the Government of St. Lucia, on officially registering with the Caribbean Drag Racing Championship (CDRC). Your commitment to the growth and development of drag racing in the region is a sterling example for others to follow.
