Pilates is a fantastic form of exercise. But not everything goes. Not because you can do it in Pilates equipment it doesn’t make it Pilates.
It follows specific routines. Precise ex*****on as you learn. It’s like building blocks. And it requires skilled certified teachers.
Not because it has the Pilates name it doesn’t make it contrology as intended.
And not because you have watched a video, doesn’t mean you can teach.
Most of my clients can feel the difference. Can you? Do you know if you are doing Pilates as intended or following the popularity of the name Pilates.

Pilates continues to show up across elite sport, performance, recovery, and long-term movement training — and even some of the world’s biggest athletes are incorporating it into their routine.

Recently, NBA superstar LeBron James and Savannah James shared a glimpse into their Pilates session on TikTok, highlighting the growing visibility of Pilates within high-performance and athletic spaces.

While Pilates has become increasingly mainstream, moments like this also open an important conversation around why Pilates matters:
• movement quality
• control and precision
• mobility and strength
• body awareness
• longevity and recovery

At its core, Pilates is more than just a workout trend — it’s a movement method that continues to support people across all stages of life and performance.

This is awesome!! I teach Pilates. I practice Pilates. Contrology. Classical Pilates. A system of exercises with different apparatus.

Who would have said to me that I would be practicing Jiu Jitsu?? Yes I’m all for physical activity… but talking about taking the bull by the horns head on… feeling grounded (pun intended) but fish out of the water 💯. My classical Pilates practice overlapping in many ways with this discipline. So much to take in!

Proud of my second stripe! I worked very hard for it. Sweat and tears and (un)consistent work but here I am still. Learning. Rolling. Dissecting. Head shacking and all!
