🎉 Help me wish a very happy birthday to a true legend of Jamaican tennis, Coach Douglas Burke!

Looking through these photos brings back so many memories of the glory days, especially if you were a part of the talent squad with him and Lloyd Johnson. If you came up through the junior ranks, you know firsthand the impact he had. 💯🙏

He was instrumental throughout my junior career both on and off the court, guiding me locally and during tournaments overseas. Beyond my own journey, his dedication shaped the development of countless junior players, and his support continues today as he still regularly contributes gear to help the next generation in Jamaica.

From his incredible playing days as a Canadian Under-18 and Under-21 Champion and representing Jamaica in the Davis Cup from 1987 to 1995, to his monumental work helping secure over one million dollars in scholarships for Jamaican tennis players, his legacy speaks for itself.

Thank you for everything you have poured into us as a coach, mentor, and leader. Wishing you a fantastic birthday and many more to come! 🎾🇯🇲🎂

📸 From our high school days competing against each other to crossing paths at college tournaments, it’s amazing to see where life has brought us.

It was great stopping by Kash’s programme; the Backhand Factory. Seeing how he has transformed this community court and developed these juniors, taking them from the local level to representing Jamaica and finding opportunities overseas, is nothing short of inspiring.

We have always shared the same vision: giving these kids the tools to compete internationally and creating the pathways we once walked ourselves.

Getting on court with his players was a blast and their progress is real. Keep building, Kash! We will have those extra courts soon enough. 👊📈

📸 From his junior development days all the way to college tennis, it’s amazing to see how time flies. It means a lot to have been part of his journey through those formative years, and it’s been great to see that growth continue as he’s moved up to the college level. Whenever he’s back home, we’re usually back on court putting in the work, so it was nice catching up with him while I was out and about, even if we couldn’t squeeze in a session this time. Seeing his progress and the player he’s becoming makes me incredibly proud. Keep grinding and chasing those dreams, Keyondre! 📈🙌
