La “NOSTRA” Emma D’Este vola negli Stati Uniti: la lunga della Reyer Venezia approda a North Alabama USA NCAA DIVISION 1.
Nuova avventura americana per una delle giovani lunghe più interessanti del panorama italiano. Emma D’Este è stata annunciata da North Alabama Women’s Basketball, programma NCAA Division I, ed è pronta a proseguire il proprio percorso di crescita negli Stati Uniti.
L’annuncio è arrivato attraverso i canali social ufficiali del programma, che ha accolto la giocatrice italiana sottolineandone taglia fisica, lunghezza e versatilità. Un profilo che North Alabama considera in grado di incidere su entrambi i lati del campo, portando presenza interna, protezione del ferro e margini importanti in prospettiva.
D’Este, classe 2007, è una centro di circa 1.92/1.93, cresciuta nel settore giovanile dell’Umana Reyer Venezia. Con il club orogranata ha completato un percorso di formazione di alto livello, vivendo anche il contesto della prima squadra femminile e delle competizioni europee.
Il suo nome è già noto anche a livello internazionale. Con le nazionali giovanili italiane ha partecipato a diverse competizioni FIBA, mettendosi in evidenza soprattutto per impatto a rimbalzo. Alla FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2024 ha chiuso con 7.0 punti, 9.7 rimbalzi e 1.3 assist di media, risultando tra le migliori rimbalziste del torneo. Uno dei momenti più significativi del suo percorso recente è stata anche la convocazione al Basketball Without Borders Women’s Global Camp 2025, organizzato a Indianapolis durante il weekend dell’WNBA All-Star Game. Un riconoscimento importante, riservato ad alcune delle migliori prospette internazionali della sua generazione.
Il suo arrivo conferma anche il crescente collegamento tra il basket femminile italiano e la NCAA. Sempre più giovani giocatrici scelgono il percorso universitario statunitense per completare la propria maturazione tecnica e personale, confrontandosi con un sistema diverso ma estremamente competitivo.
