🇮🇹 🗺️ 1. ITINERARIO
⠀

Baselga – Bedolpian: 3 km | 250 m D+ | Pendenza media 8% (ascesa costante su fondo asfaltato)
⠀

🇬🇧 Piné Loop: through the villages of the Altopiano and the Bedolpian Pine Forest 🚴♂️
⠀
🗺️ 1. ROUTE
A blend of hill and mountain scenery, designed for anyone looking for a scenic gravel loop linking the hamlets above Pergine with the Piné Plateau and the woods of Bedolpian.
From the start in the center of Pergine Valsugana, the road immediately climbs toward the hill of Serso and continues along a secondary road through Viarago before joining the SP8 toward Mala. From Mala the climb continues on the SP83 toward Faida. A tough climb, but steady, mostly shaded, and on good asphalt. Traffic here is virtually nonexistent: you climb past mountain farmsteads and a few scattered huts, with fine views of the surrounding peaks. At the junction by the Capriolo restaurant, turn left for the final stretch, downhill, into Faida. From here continue to Miola, then descend toward the waters of Lake Serraia and the village of Baselga di Piné.
From here begins the day's second, striking climb: you cross via della Polse, heading into the shade of the centuries-old Bedolpian pine forest, the highest and most immersive point of the route. From here you continue, mostly uphill, on a forest road toward the Ceramont refuge. The terrain is fairly compact, with some stones and, in places, loose gravel. You return to asphalt and descend toward Rizzolaga and then via di Mura, passing through Sternigo and Tressilla, before following the quiet secondary road through San Mauro. From here you join the SP83 toward Nogaré. After the last few rolling stretches between Madrano and Vigalzano, you quickly return to the starting point in Pergine.

📊 2. TECHNICAL DATA
Distance: 36 km
Elevation gain: 1,080 m
Min / max elevation: 480 m / 1,220 m
Recommended bike: Gravel
Main Climbs Detail:
Pergine – Serso – Faida: 10.8 km | 740 m gain | Average gradient 7% (double-digit ramps between Mala and the top)
Baselga – Bedolpian: 3 km | 250 m gain | Average gradient 8% (steady climb on paved surface)
⠀
🚴 3. RIDEABILITY & LOGISTICS
Surface and bike type: the route offers a balanced mix of low-traffic secondary asphalt, local farm roads, and stretches on compact-surfaced forest tracks. It's prime territory for a gravel bike: 38–45 mm knobby tires are recommended for grip on the forest sections around Bedolpian.
For road bikes: skip the forest track at Bedolpian — descend via Collina, via Miralago and via dei Solari, then rejoin the SP83.
Elevation profile and effort: a short but intense loop, with over 1,000 meters of climbing packed into just 36 km. The gradients call for solid fitness and easy gears, offset by the varied scenery and the brief breathers around Lake Serraia.
Food and water stops: excellent water and services along the whole route: fountains in the villages (Serso, Faida, Baselga) and refreshment points by Lake Serraia and in the Bedolpian area.
Points to note: by mistake, I rode the Bedolpian loop backwards, taking via della Polse the wrong way. Given the time, I decided to carry on, but the advice (read: rule) is to climb via the Bedolpian road and pick up the track again at the top. The SP83 through Nogaré is the busiest road for getting to (or leaving) Piné. I generally avoid it, but in this case, wanting to pass through San Mauro, I chose to descend that way anyway. For those who'd rather avoid it, there are plenty of alternatives: in particular, I'd recommend the bike/pedestrian path through the Ferrari hamlet toward Laghestel, then deciding whether to return via Montagnaga (SP66) or continue toward Buss.

📊 2. TECHNISCHE DATEN
Distanz: 36 km
Höhenmeter (positiv): 1.080 Hm
Min./Max. Höhe: 480 m / 1.220 m
Empfohlenes Rad: Gravelbike
Hauptanstiege im Detail:
Pergine – Serso – Faida: 10,8 km | 740 Hm | durchschnittliche Steigung 7 % (zweistellige Rampen zwischen Mala und der Kuppe)
Baselga – Bedolpian: 3 km | 250 Hm | durchschnittliche Steigung 8 % (gleichmäßiger Anstieg auf Asphalt)
⠀
