Combining his two greatest passions, Coaching and Motorcycles, Jay Goodall has been riding bikes all his life, and been coaching sport since the age of 16 years old. Having successfully raced 250GP, 600 Supersport, Open Supersport and Endurance Racing, Jay has had the fortunate opportunity to have been mentored and worked with some of the most influential and well-respected people within the industry. Highlights of his career have included a 250 Championship, riding the New Zealand built Britten, an open invitation to the Isle of Man TT and having a strong affiliation with Aprilia, Yamaha, Metzeler and Dunlop Tyres. Returning to Australia in 2007, Jay has been simply applying what he has learnt from the elite and from his own racing and riding career to help develop rider’s skills, technique and confidence. Having been engaged by Queensland Government in 2010, Jay has been instrumental in helping develop Australia’s first Data Equipped Motorcycle to assist with Motorcycle Crash Investigation, Road Safety Auditing and Friction Testing for the Queensland Police Service and Department of Main Roads. Bike Torque Moto Academy’s reputation is renowned for providing comprehensive training, based on Jay’s extensive experience, knowledge and passion to develop riders. With strong associations with MotoGP, World Superbikes, Isle of Man TT, and Japanese Superbikes, Jay is especially proud to work closely with former JSB and 12 x Suzuka Endurance Rider Takumi Shimizu, who now resides back in Yokohama Japan, and is Australia’s proud ambassador of RS Taichi. Together, both Jay and Takumi not only provide training at all levels, from Beginners to Elite, but are purveyors of the highest quality and innovative protective clothing. Proudly an active member of the community, Jay’s professional and personable approach has been proven and preferred by the likes of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys, the Australian Defence Force, Mates4Mates and various organisations. Combining his passion for coaching, Jay’s determination and commitment to achieve performance and perfection, and enjoyment of riding is contagious.
