India part 2: Himalaya

Compared to the bustling central part this area seemed like an other world. Maybe its the unshakable and unforgivable presence of these huge mountains. Maybe it is because life here follows the seasons.
What was really remarkable was that you felt not like travelling from valley to valley, but in terms of landscape it looked like a different continent each time, also in terms of culture as the boarders are close. Budhism, islam , hinduism and sikh live peacefully beside each others.

How often do you think about riding your bike?
My love, my adiction, my motivation for going to work. Me without riding a bike for more than 3 weeks is a critical situation 😅

Just do it myself 🤷🏻‍♀️

There was once one of these guys, who like to give their unasked opinion, saying: as long as i can t change my tyres myself, i m not a real rider.
So here we are.
Whats your opinion on that one?

2026

The crazyest race i ve ever done - and survived
1300 bikes roaring on this mythic beach in the high north of france, 15km long track, a 6km straight line, a lot of rain, wind, and temparatures around 5 degrees, the sand as heavy and deep as it can get. Hundreds of thousends of motoenthousiasts who cheer for each rider who has the courage to dig through this hell for over 3h.

I had 3 months to discover this new world of sandraces from scratch. I had nobody to turn to, nobody to ask. So by asking arround, getting some pieces of information from here and there, and some friends motivated to do big distances with me to reach deep sand, i learned and evolved weekend by weekend.

As a rallyrider with some decent experience in desert sand i thought it can t be that difficult, i couldn t have been more wrong! The riding, the preparation, the bikesetup and even the organisation is so particular to this discipline. I ve learned so much in that short time and still think i could have done much better if i have had more time and money. But i made it to the finishline, for a first try as a complete newbie thats a win!

If you would have asked me during the race if i would do it again i would politly to f* off. A few hours later, when i was getting warm again and life startet to return slowly back to my body, i allready thought about what to do better the next time.

Beware: This s**t is addictive

Come on board with the poirette (aka: female version of leek), which the amateurs of this race are proudly called.

Thats what it looks like starting behind in the second wave. What a crazy experience!

When i watch these pictures i remember why i love riding so much in deep sand, although its so hard and difficult and i absolutely don‘t handle it for now.
But there are these brief moments when you manage to surf it, and then its like magic, like a synphony ❤️
