The seventh edition of the Venice Masters Basketball Tournament concluded on Sunday at 1:00 PM. The event saw the participation of 18 teams and featured a total of 34 matches across three courts set up in the area of Parco delle Quattro Fontane at Lido di Venezia.
The tournament began on Friday afternoon with the first games and a welcome concert by the American artist Peter Karp. The three competing categories involved about 150 players from all over Europe, and beyond.
For the first time, there was a complete sweep by Italian teams: in the women’s over 45 category, the Poiane della Gazzera triumphed; in the men’s over 60 category, the Fossombrone team took the victory, repeating their success from last year; and in the over 50 category, the Venetian team won, which also included some former stars of Reyer Venezia, such as Loris Barbiero and Massimo Guerra.
The winners received trophies created by Max Milani, this year dedicated to the memory of Dražen Dalipagić.
