Free choice of line! Earlier this year for the acclimation for our expedition to Cerro Tupungato (6,570 m) we spent some days at Cerro Las Tortolas (6,145 m) in Valle del Elqui. Surrounded by the most wonderful shades of the mineral-rich soil, this terrain was made for freeride lines. Open, wide slopes with fine chippings, perfect for free line choice. Truly unique! Unfortunately, a prolonged period of unfavorable weather conditions then derailed our acclimation plan, which then caused problems on Tupungato.
