Motorsport - the hidden drama.
When I was 14, I was sent to Outward Bound School (like Boot Camp) for three weeks. Came back super fit and living a motto. “To serve, To strive, Not to yield.” It's been my approach to life ever since.
Wednesday night pushed the outer limits of that. After a long day of 00 and 000 car duties and just a sandwich, I set off to clear all the stages. Well 2 and the inflatable arch.
Drive round 20k with trailer, pull out stakes, separate signs, simple.
Started about 23:00 got home 09:20!
Black sand dunes, base fine firm, then over crest into a small mountain left by 30 buggies. Discovery went straight in, setting off extended height mode.
4 to 5 hours later I had moved the small hill either side of the car so I could get near the car. Lifted each wheel then dug out under all 4 wheels to put in a bed of rock plus exit ramp of rock. Then dug out under the car so I could see air.
Drive out no bother.
Had to repeat a dig out 2 more times simple, but not the last time. Just 100m from finishing. Again over crest and into another 30 buggy sand mountain. I dug out, either side, then dug under some very big stones so they rolled into the hole, but the last one by the rear axle I could not move. I was just knackered.
So I messaged a friend. There are superheroes and just fantastic friends, Dassi is both.
Thank you, a simple pull, but thank you
