Today, we honor the women who spoke up, showed up, and refused to give up.

Is Iceland still a dream on your bucket list?

October is a special month for women in Iceland, and welcoming women from around the world is truly a dream come true for me.

I believe there is something powerful about women coming together to travel, share experiences and build meaningful connections and friendships.

I’ve personally designed this journey to showcase some of my favorite places in Iceland, with a few special surprises along the way. ✨

Maybe it’s time to stop dreaming and start planning.

Today is Sjómannadagurinn ⚓🌊

Living in Iceland, it’s impossible not to feel the connection between people and the sea.

As a Portuguese woman, I have my own reason to be grateful. Some of my favorite childhood memories are gathered around a table with bacalhau — salt cod, a food that has been part of Portuguese culture for centuries.

So today, I also thank the fishermen and all those who have worked the seas, helping bring one of the world’s most beloved foods to our tables and our memories.

Happy Sjómannadagurinn to all who make their living from the ocean and to the generations before them who did the same. 🇮🇸⚓🇵🇹

Historically, women were honored
for carrying families through the harshest months.

For their strength.
For their resilience.
For enduring the realities of a demanding climate.

In a country shaped by wind, ice, and long dark seasons,
survival required courage — and women were central to it.

When I look at these landscapes,
I see that same energy.

Standing under waterfalls.
Walking on glaciers.
Chasing rainbows.
Watching the northern lights.
Climbing mountains — even in the cold.

Strength here is not loud.
It is steady.
It endures.
