Today we remember and honor Franco Columbu, a true icon in the world of bodybuilding and strength sports.

Originally born in Sardinia, Italy, Franco rose to fame as a champion bodybuilder, the world’s strongest man, a powerlifter, and an actor.

Franco packed the strength of a giant into a compact 5’5” frame built for speed, winning both Mr. Universe and Mr. Olympia titles as well as competing in the inaugural World’s Strongest Man competition.

He appeared alongside best friend and training partner Arnold Schwarzenegger in films such as “Pumping Iron” and “The Terminator.”

His impact extended far beyond the stage, as Franco was a healer and teacher, using his credentials as a chiropractor and his published works to share his wisdom to help motivate millions around the world.

Rest in peace, Franco; your legacy will live on forever.
