Some journeys begin with belief long before they begin with training.
For the last 2 years, I wanted to participate in HYROX. But after pregnancy, I didn’t have the strength or confidence to even think I could do it.
Three months ago, I walked into the gym and told my trainer, Tuli Sir, “HYROX Delhi ki tickets aa gayi hain. Mann toh bahut hai form fill karne ka, but running ka toh kuch pata hi nahi.”
He smiled and said, “I’ve trained someone for HYROX before, and I can train you too. I know your potential. Aap kar loge.”
He has known me for the last 14 years. He knew me as someone who loved lifting heavy weights—not as a runner, not as a hybrid athlete. But he saw something in me that I couldn’t see in myself.
Standing right there in front of him, I filled my HYROX registration.
The next three months were nothing short of a roller coaster.
I started with just a 100-meter run, and I was completely breathless. For almost a month, I kept complaining, “Sir, aap strength training hi kam karwa rahe ho!” 😅 Because strength was my comfort zone.
But every single time, he would say, “Pehle running pe focus karo. Strength kahin nahi jaayegi.”
Today, when I look back, I realize how right he was.
The person who watched me struggle to finish 100 meters is the same person who helped me run 10 km in just 3 months. More than building my fitness, he built my confidence.
Thank you, Tuli Sir, for believing in me before I believed in myself, for pushing me on the days I wanted to give up, and for showing me that limits are often just in our minds.
This HYROX finish is as much yours as it is mine. ❤️🏃♀️💪
