Dear Tamil Nadu Basketball Friends,
We now have the U13 State Team Probables list.
In the boys’ section, all 21 players are from 8 districts, while in the girls’ section, all 20 players are from 7 districts.
Congratulations to all the selected players, coaches, PET'S and respective District Associations. 👏🏀
At the same time, the other District Associations have to work towards producing future players. The Association should support and guide coaches and school teams in every district and promote basketball by organising regular camps, tournaments, and development programmes.
If the same situation continues, players from other districts may gradually lose hope, while the same established players may continue to represent the State year after year.
The Tamil Nadu Basketball Association should focus on developing players in every district through their respective District Associations and help resolve the challenges they face in developing grassroots basketball.
In some districts, players are being represented / requested from other districts just to form a team and participate in competitions. This should not be encouraged or continued.
If a District Association cannot identify and develop even 12 players from its own district, then it is important to seriously review the functioning of that association. New office bearers or PE teachers who have the ability and commitment to develop players could be given an opportunity to take responsibility.
We all have to work together to develop players in a healthy and competitive environment. Only then we can produce more talented, confident, and fighting-spirit ballers from every district of Tamil Nadu.
