It is with heavy heart, Kerala Basketball Association announces the sad demise of its former General Secretary Sri. P P Verghese (Sabuattan) (82 years) today evening at Kunnamkulam.
Sabuattan had always been a torch bearer of the rich basketball heritage owned by Kunnamkulam and had represented the Senior State Team during his playing career. He had also served Kerala Basketball Association in various other vital capacities like Chairman-State Selection Committee and Chairman-State Technical Committee.
Kerala Basketball Fraternity deeply mourns the sudden demise of its beloved stalwart and prays that his noble soul rest in eternal peace 🙏🙏🙏

Kerala Basketball Fraternity mourns the sudden demise of our beloved member Rev. Fr. Sibi Chethikalam CMI who has left for his heavenly abode today morning.
A hard core basketball lover, organiser and promoter, he had been instrumental in setting up basketball courts in various institutions in the State and organizing fabulous and well-structured Inter school tournaments across these venues. He was the key man behind the elite basketball academy @ St. Joseph HSS Pulincunnoo which has nurtured and contributed numerous talented players to Kerala Basketball over the years. He ardently devoted his valuable time and efforts in basketball officiating too, served KBA as the Convener of its Referees Commission and a BFI Referee. Above all he always maintained sincere and heartwarming relationship with all associated with the game and remained as an epitome of true sportsmanship and brotherhood in the fraternity. Kerala Basketball Fraternity is deeply saddened by his irreparable loss and pray for his noble soul to rest in eternal peace🙏🙏🙏

With profound grief, Kerala Basketball Association inform you all the sad sudden demise of Joshua Abraham (20 years), Youth and School National Player who breathed his last following an accidental injury sustained today morning. Elder son of Mrs. Betty Regi and Mr. Regi Abraham who hails from Bharathipuram, Anchal, Kollam, Joshua had his early schooling at St. John's School, Anchal and then moved to St. Ephrem's HSS, Mannanam where he established himself as a talented player to count on in future in Kerala Basketball. He kept his profile high and remained a key player with the Mar Ivanios College Basketball Team where he was pursuing his 3rd Semester B. Com Degree.
Kerala Basketball Fraternity is deeply shocked and saddened by his heartbreaking loss and extends its heartfelt condolences to his family members, mentors and friends and joins them in prayers for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.....adieu little champion🙏🙏🙏

It's with profound grief, we inform you all the sad demise of the Chief Patron of Kerala Basketball Association and Founder Director of Laurels School International, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Dr. John M Chacko at Indore today.
Despite his towering stature as a renowned academician and managerial field expert, he has contributed immensely to the game of basketball in Kerala and has always stood as the strong backbone of it serving it with a purpose at every opportunity to promote the game.
Kerala Basketball Fraternity pays its most respectful homage and joins his family and friends in prayers on his deep loss. May his soul rest in eternal peace🙏🙏🙏

Kerala Basketball Family is deeply saddened to announce the demise of one of the legends of Kerala Basketball, Mr. KNK Nair - former International Basketball Coach, International Player and FIBA Referee on 9th July 2021 at 10 pm at his residence in Kozhikode.
A highly accomplished and multifaceted talent hailing from Alappuzha, Mr. Nair had shown his elegance and expertise in every aspect of the game, be as a player who fielded Indian tricolours and captained Services team, as a Coach who guided many a players at University(especially Calicut University), State, National and International arenas or as a FIBA Referee at high level officiating. He had been instrumental in moulding a large pool of players and officials during his highly decorated tenure with Kerala Basketball and had disseminated tirelessly the extreme heat and passion of the game to all around him.
The maestro is survived by his beloved wife Smt. Kamalavathy Nair and 3 daughters Sindhu Nair, Indu Nair and Sudha Nair.
Kerala Basketball family owes much to his relentless and passionate service to the game and pays its loving and respectful homage to the departed soul💕🙏💕🏀 Rest in eternal peace dear Sir🙏🙏🙏

Inform you all the sad demise of former KBA Referee and basketball player Rev. Fr. Benny Konooran CST who left for his heavenly abode on 21.05.2021. May his soul rest in eternal peace. The last rites and burial will be at 3.00 pm today at Little Flower Congregation Ashram, Jungle Sikri, Gorakhpur.

It's really a proud moment for Kerala Basketball Association and Kerala Basketball Fraternity as he has served the game this far in various exceptional capacities as Junior Kerala State Player, Kerala State Team Coach and BFI Referee besides holding key posts in KBA like Member of Executive Committee and Referees Commission as well as President of Kannur District Basketball Association. An eminent academician and innovator in his field hailing from Manjeri, Malappuram, he is currently working as Assistant Professor and HOD of Physical Education in Govt. Medical College Calicut after his successful stints with Govt. College Tirur, Brennen College Talassery and Govt. Arts and Science College Calicut.
