U.S. Kids Golf Foundation launches their local tour in India with a strategic tie up with US Kids golf India across the country to promote junior golf development and provide a platform for kids to be encouraged to play tournament golf.
The inaugural event will take place on the 7th December 2018 at the Classic Golf & country club, Haryana. With 7 other events planned in January 2019 in Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Poona, Kolkata and Chandigarh in the 8 event Winter Season - Junior players in India will be given the complete feel of junior events run at par with International guidelines.
With a minimum participation in 4 such events out of 8 events, they will be able to gain qualification status for the USKIDS European Championships, World Championships and Teen World Championships held every year at Pinehurst,USA & Scotland.
Tournament director Romit Bose says “ I’m indeed excited as I’ve always believed that golf is played by kids as per yardage specific to ones age and US Kids provides us with a structure system offering the same. This will not only help develop the correct scoring ability and pace of play of the players from a young age but also encourage injury free golf and most importantly allow the kids to enjoy their golf rather than get frustrated trying to overcome longer adult yardage setups which become physically unattainable.”
This will groom and prepare our juniors for the next level and help them progress in the future.

The U.S. Kids Golf Local Tours were created to provide junior boys and girls the opportunity to advance their golf skills and knowledge of the game through age appropriate competition at the local level. The U.S. Kids Golf Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is able to make professionally run events at quality golf facilities accessible to young golfers across the country. The Local Tours are part of U.S. Kids Golf's overall mission: to help kids have fun learning the lifelong game of golf at an early age and to encourage family interaction that builds lasting memories.
What Makes U.S. Kids Golf Foundation Local Tour Events Different?
Caddies/Parental Involvement -- We're one of the few tournament programs that encourage parents or other family members to participate as caddies. Younger kids are less intimidated and can make their own decisions or ask their caddie for a second opinion. This also helps grow the game through family golf.
Age Brackets -- Girls don't play boys and we avoid grouping a large variety of different ages together.
Course Setup -- Our Family Course Set Up has forward tees which allow the various ages and genders to play from the proper yardages in order to encourage proper scores, enhance pace of play, and maximize the enjoyment of the game.
Nationwide/Worldwide Program -- Young players at the local level have an opportunity to qualify for our World, Regional and International Championships.
Progressive Competition -- There’s a place for everyone -- from the beginner to the elite national and international player.
Qualification to the World Championship – This is the largest junior golf event in the world played at the Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, NC.
