BNP Endurathon 25.0 is a 25 kilometre, mini ultra race organised by BNP Green Runners, a not for profit society ( registered with the Commissioner for Charities ). BNP Green Runners has been formed by the running community at Sanjay Gandhi National Park ( affectionately, "BNP"). Although, less than 4 months old, BNP Green Runners already has a membership of over 190 runners. Our Club has been fo
rmed with the twin aims of promoting activities related to running and to contribute to CSR activities at SGNP. We wish to give back in many small ways to this wonderful eco-world that enables and fosters us runners. BNP Endurathon 25.0 has been designed by runners, for runners who wish to run in nature and test their endurance and running skills. BNP Endurathon 25.0 has been arranged in two loops of 12.5 Kms each. Our race begins just a little before the turn off to the Gandhi Tekdi and takes you on a leisurely run through Krishnagiri and into the Kanheri Caves zone. About a little over 4.5 kms into the run you meet the Kanheri Hill and experience your first climbing run of roughly 500 m. You reach the top and turn back towards your start point. As you near the start point, you veer right and go up Gandhi Tekdi, a climb of about 800 m. You round the top of the tekdi and come trotting back down to complete your first loop. Now off you go on your second loop of 12.5 kms to complete the distance of 25.0 kms. The route and the race have been planned by a dedicated Team of Runners with experience ranging from HMs / FMs / Ultra runs and Comrades. It's reasonably challenging - some have even called it tough.
