Turahalli Forest is a green haven in the suburbs of Bengaluru.
The forest is known for its flora and fauna of regional species such as eucalyptus trees, orchids and animals like hares and peafowls. The place which was once open for cycling and hiking is now closed due to an influx of tourists and encroachment of real estate developers in the surrounding area.
This was the first of many escapades and vlogs as Wanderer Hex — an anonymous traveler wandering through time, space and places.
More videos coming up. Stay tuned to

Pictures of my Montra at Manchanbele after a long trail returning from Savanadurga.

(info: Wikipedia) Manchanabele is known for it's water reservoir dam nearby to the place, across the river Arkavathy. It is a trekking location. It provides water to Magadi town, Kayaking also conducted here. Species of Water Snakes are also visible. The dam backwaters can also be accessed via Dabbaguli village or via Magadi road where few adventure resorts are located.

No place like Om(kar hills) for an early morning trail. An urban streak to get there and a rugged climb to the top. Calm. Subtle. Surreal. Omkar hills is my getaway for some peaceful solitude with Montra by my side.

Namma M G Road Metro

In a city brimming with traffic, commuters heed to Metro to travel long distance at ease and save time along the way

While metro stations become a hub for ticket counters, check-ins and queues; the MG Road metro station stands out. It is known for the art of pleasing daily commuters with it's own graffiti-building, promoting art, culture and of course, the metro rail

A shoutout to Harshvardhan of for this magnum opus of a graffiti. Had the fortune of meeting him when the work was in progress. Harsh, if you're reading, this building is always full of life. Thank You!

So, here's Montra posing to promote Namma Metro and also the use of public transport to leave as much less carbon footprint as possible

See you in the next Metro ride

Peace,

Hex

Pedal'ing across long trails on a sunny day can get coco-loco-crazy

We all need a break that can refuel & rejuvenate a tiring ride

A coconut shop is a much needed pit-stop for all riders

Never miss a chance to break and grab one

Lal Bagh's Flower Show Tribute To Swamy Vivekananda

A week ago, I had cycled to Lal Bagh — A botanical garden which vastly contributes to Bengaluru's 'garden city' title

On Republic Day each year, Lal Bagh hosts a flower show in it's glass house. The event showcases common and rare species of flowers alongside a theme denoting Indian culture. This year's theme celebrated Swamy Vivekananda's 157th birth anniversary

I am glad to have witnessed the event. For those who couldn't, I'll leave you with a few pictures and this quote by Swami Vivekananda

"Arise! Awake! and stop not until the goal is reached"

So, here's to your goals!

Till the next flower show.

Peace

We live in troubled times. A future that was once bright is at stake. Climate change is real causing calamities across the world.

It’s about time we bring in a change to overcome climate change. Changes from within as an individual, and collectively as a society.
A change to contribute to the environment. By planting trees, reducing the use of plastics, using public transport, opting for cycles or EVs over Petrol/Diesel vehicles, there are many more ways to go about.
Start small, think big and just do it! However big or small, your contribution for a better change matters.

The world needs you more than ever.
Meanwhile. World, Hold On!

First of many cyclothons

Participated in my first 5k cyclothon Saksham 2020 organised by Fit India — a Govt. of India initiative to promote cycling for health, environment, and fuel conservation.

Was overwhelmed to see a lot of cyclists gather early hours. Felt good to be one among them to pedal for a noble cause.
