Sivaparvathy dance school was founded in 2004 by kalakshethra Malavika with the sole aim of promoting Indian
Classical art forms. Trained under many well known geniuses including Chandralekha Jose, Nelliyodu Vasudevan Namboothiri and Hari Nelliyodu in dance and music, she has also shown admirable talent in Kathakali, Mridangam, Ottam thullal and various other dance forms. Apart from winning Balareshmi Award, this prodigy, along with numerous other awards was granted a central government scholarship for six years in Mohiniyattam. Along with numerous prizes, she had been KALATHILAKAM for three consecutive years in district and four years in sub-district youth festivals, the prominent art mela in the Asian continent. She later joined Kalakshethra Rukmini Devi College of fine arts, Chennai, an international arts and cultural academy dedicated to the reservation of traditional values in Indian art and crafts, especially in the field of Bharathanatyam dance. She was the performing artist for Thanchavoor South Zone Cultural fest along with various performances in and out of the country which she continues till date. Sivaparvathy dance school was later reformed into Sivaparvathy Cultural Society in 2010 which then onwards is doing best to contribute to the artistic world, sponsoring children with financial limitations to help them learn art and several other activities including Chilanka Rural Fest, aim to present various dance forms in the rural parts of the city. Sivaparvathy dance school has trained more than 500 students under the proper and professional guidance of Kalakshethra Malavika. The school ensures a very detailed approach which includes both theory as well as practical classes for the all-round development of the disciples.
