What happened in Kolkata today is truly shameful.

The police did not allow Mohun Bagan flags, even though Mohun Bagan legends were scheduled to play. They also did not allow Messi-related tifos, yet bottles—which are normally not permitted at VYBK—were allowed today. Why?

Messi came for a private event. Some businessmen made money, but not a single rupee was invested in Indian football. And who suffers because of this mismanagement?
Indian football, of course.

What’s even more disappointing is that some idiots—whether they support Indian football or not—are vandalising football infrastructure and clapping while doing it. 🙏

আজকে এজিএম হবে মোহনবাগান ক্লাবে, বার্ষিক সাধারণ এই সভার আজকে অনেক তাৎপর্য কারণ মিলিঝুলি সরকারের আগে যখন নির্বাচনী প্রচার চলছিল তখন আমাদের উত্থাপিত বহু দাবিকে তারা স্বাগত জানিয়েছিলেন এবং তাদের নির্বাচনী ইস্তেহারে তার উল্লেখ ছিল কিন্তু হঠাৎই নির্বাচনের অনুপস্থিতিতে তৈরি এই শাসকগোষ্ঠী এসে সেসবের প্রতি সেই অর্থে লক্ষ্য দেননি । একসময় বিশ্বমানের ফুটবল ক্লাবের স্বপ্ন দেখানো দলটাই এখন সামান্য এশিয়ান চ্যাম্পিয়ন্স লীগ ২ খেলতে যায়না ইরানে তাও পরপর দুই বছর, মেয়েরা ক্রিকেটে বিশ্বকাপ জয় করে ফেললো এমনকি পাশের ক্লাবের মেয়েরা এশিয়ান চ্যাম্পিয়ন্স লীগ খেলে এলো কিন্তু আমরা মেয়েদের দলের কথা শুনে এখনো হয় এড়িয়ে যাই নাহলে অজুহাতের শিলালিপি বের করে আনি ।

না আছে একটা প্রপার নিজেদের স্টেডিয়াম, না আছে একটা মিউজিয়াম, না আছে একটা ট্রফি ক্যাবিনেট যেখানে আমাদের সব ট্রফি রাখা থাকবে, না আছে ক্লাব ম্যানেজমেন্ট ঐক্য আর না আছে সমর্থকদের গুরুত্ব। এই এত না এর মাঝে আছে সমর্থকদের জন্যে লাঠিচার্জ, মাঠে নেমে গোল না করার খোঁচা আর সর্বোপরি ইস্টবেঙ্গল সমর্থকদের দ্বারা নিগ্রহ ।

আইএসএল হবে কিনা কেউ জানিনা কিন্তু ক্লাবটাকে বাঁচাতে দয়া করে উত্তর দিন নাহলে সেদিন দূরে নেই যেদিন আন্দোলনের আগুন জ্বালিয়ে দেবে আপনাদের ক্ষমতার রাজপ্রাসাদ

১৮৮৯ সালে ভূপেন্দ্রনাথ বসু যখন এই মোহনবাগান ক্লাবের প্রতিষ্ঠা করেছিলেন তখন থেকে আজ ১৩৬ বছর পরেও আমাদের ক্লাবের উদ্দেশ্যটা একই আছে - "play the game in the spirit of the game"

এই সবুজ মেরুন রঙ আমাদের শিরা উপশিরায় বয়ে চলা রক্তের মতোই আদি অকৃত্রিম এক আবেগ, এই জার্সি আমাদের কাছে মায়ের মত আর ওই পালতোলা নৌকা সে যেনো আমাদের মনের ভেতর চলা বয়সের স্রোতের বিপরীতে একাই কুম্ভ হয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা এক ভালোবাসা ।

তাই আজও আমরা বলি - "BELIVE THE COLOUR
BELIVE THE BADGE"
