Envisioned over a cup of Coffee on a winter evening December 2012 between two friends at Life Pro Cafe, Kohima; Darts became a reality within a couple of months. After a little research on technical standards, rules and regulations of the game and online shopping with the initiatives of five individuals, the standard game format was first introduced in the month of January 2013 at Life Pro café. I

nitially started as a game of relaxation among few friends in the evening after work, it rapidly caught up among greater circle of friends, which prompted us to take the game to a competitive level. And thereby within a short period, the group daringly organized the first Nagaland Open Dart Tournament on 31st March 2013 in Kohima under the banner of Naga Dart, which was a grand success; since then GAME ON! Nagaland Darts Association (NDA) alias NAGA DARTS, formerly Naga Dart, besides promoting the game encourages the youth to engage in this gentlemanly sport instead of whiling away their time aimlessly. NDA will collaborate and affiliate with recognized agencies and sponsors thereby facilitate committed opportunities for the darters to a higher level of competition. At present, NDA sustenance is through contribution from members and well-wishers. NDA aims to promote the sport by introducing at suitable places gradually throughout the state and identify darters to represent at national as well as international levels.

Introduction of Darts by Nagaland Darts Association (NDA) on 31 jan 2026 at Ungma Youth Sports Festival (under 17) under the aegis is Sports Society Soyim, Mokokchung District, which has active 10 clubs. A good turn out of approximately 60-70 participants sincerely engaged throughout the technicals know-how and hands-on practise session. Followed by a tournament with an attractive prize sponsored by the organiser- happens to have an all ladies final where a 14years old lady , Suyim emerged as the winner.
Special thanks to the Chief Patron of NDA Shri Sharingain Longkumer , Hon'ble Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly for the sincere initiative of darts introduction at Ungma Sport festival and Sports Society Soyim for inviting the Association to the event for introducing the wonderful game of darts and expecting the Darts game to be a regular feature of the Sports Festival in future.
