Day 3 of Inter-School Zonal Level Tournament Witnesses U/19 Competitions in Zone Inderwal

Inderwal, 21 May 2026: Day 3 of the ongoing Inter-School Zonal Level Tournament for U/19 Boys and Girls was conducted today at Sheep Ground Chatroo in Block Inderwal by the Department of Youth Services & Sports Zone Inderwal as per the directions of District Youth Services & Sports Officer Kishtwar, Mr. Jaffer Haider Sheikh, under the guidance of Zonal Physical Education Officer Inderwal, Mr. Subhash Chander and under the supervision of Tournament Incharge Mr. Sanjay Sharma, PET.

Competitions in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Tug of War and Athletics were organised during the event, where the participants displayed discipline, sportsmanship and competitive spirit throughout the competitions.

A large number of students participated in the competitions and showcased their sporting talent, physical fitness and teamwork during the events. The competitions were conducted in a disciplined and enthusiastic atmosphere, witnessing active involvement of both players and officials.

During the programme, a pledge under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was also administered among the participants and officials to spread awareness regarding healthy and drug-free lifestyles among the youth. The participants were encouraged to remain involved in sports and other positive activities for building a healthy and responsible society.

The Inter-School Zonal Level Tournament is being organised with the objective of providing a platform to young players to display their abilities and strengthen the spirit of sportsmanship and healthy competition among the students of the zone.

Inter-School Zonal Level Tournament Enters Day 2 in Zone Inderwal, District Kishtwar

Inderwal, 20 May 2026: Under the directions of District Youth Services & Sports Officer Kishtwar, Mr. Jaffer Haider Sheikh and under the supervision of Zonal Physical Education Officer Inderwal, Mr. Subhash Chander, Day 2 of the Inter-School Zonal Level Tournament for U/17 Boys and Girls was conducted today at Sheep Ground Chatroo in Block Inderwal.

In Day 2 competitions, events in Cricket, Athletics and Tug of War were conducted successfully.

Students from different schools of Block Inderwal participated in the competitions and displayed discipline, sportsmanship and competitive spirit during the events. The participants showcased their sporting talent in their respective disciplines.

The tournament is being organised with the aim of promoting sports culture among the youth and encouraging students towards healthy and drug-free lifestyles through sports activities.

Inter-School Zonal Level Tournament Commenced in Zone Inderwal, District Kishtwar

Inderwal, 19 May 2026: Under the directions of District Youth Services & Sports Officer Kishtwar, Mr. Jaffer Haider Sheikh and under the supervision of Zonal Physical Education Officer Inderwal, Mr. Subhash Chander, the Department of Youth Services & Sports Zone Inderwal today commenced the Inter-School Zonal Level Tournament for U/17 and U/19 Boys and Girls in different sports disciplines at Sheep Ground Chatroo.

On the opening day of the tournament, competitions for U/17 Boys and Girls in the disciplines of Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Chess were conducted successfully.

Students from different schools of Block Inderwal participated actively in the competitions and displayed discipline, sportsmanship and team spirit during the events. The young participants showcased their talent and competitive spirit in their respective disciplines.

The main aim of the tournament is to promote sports culture among the youth, provide opportunities to young players to showcase their talent and encourage students towards healthy and drug-free lifestyles through sports activities.

11th International Yoga Day Celebrated in Chhatroo and Mughal Maidan under the Directions of SDM Chhatroo

Chatroo, June 21, 2025:

The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Chhatroo and Mughal Maidan, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Zone Inderwal at TRC Chhatroo and TRC Mughal Maidan.

The programmes were held under the directions of Sub Divisional Magistrate, Chhatroo, Mr. Naeem ur Rehman JKAS, and were conducted by the officials of the Youth Services and Sports Department.

At TRC Mughal Maidan, the event was coordinated with the support of Tehsildar Mughal Maidan, Mr. Parvaiz Ahmed, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, government employees, and local residents.

At TRC Chhatroo, the programme was supervised by Zonal Physical Education Officer, Inderwal, Mr. Subhash Chander, along with departmental staff. This venue also saw active involvement from students, teaching staff, officials from various departments, and community members.

Both events featured guided yoga sessions focused on physical fitness, mental well-being, and the importance of integrating yoga into daily life. The atmosphere at both venues remained organized and disciplined.

Inter School Zonal Level Tournament Kicks Off in Inderwal, Kishtwar

Today, on 07-06-2024, the Inter School Zonal Level Tournament commenced in Zone Inderwal, Kishtwar. The event was initiated under the direction of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kishtwar, Mr. Jaffer Haider Sheikh, and was supervised by the Incharge Zonal Physical Education Officer Inderwal, Sh. Subhash Chander, who also served as the Chief Guest for the opening day.

On the first day of the tournament, U-14 and U-17 boys competed in various disciplines including Kabaddi, Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Carrom, Chess, Cricket, Rope Skipping and Badminton. Different schools from the Block Inderwal Zone Inderwal participated enthusiastically in the competitions.

District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kishtwar, Mr. Jaffer Haider Sheikh, welcomed in Zone Inderwal

Zone Inderwal, Kishtwar on 25-05-2024 – The Department of Youth Services and Sports, Zone Inderwal, extends a warm welcome to Mr. Jaffer Haider Sheikh, the newly posted District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) in Kishtwar. This marks Mr. Jaffer Haider Sheikh's inaugural visit to Zone Inderwal since assuming his new posting.

The welcome meeting took place at TRC Mughal Maidan and was organized by the I/c Zonal Physical Education Officer, Sh. Subhash Chander. Attendees included PETs,REKs, NYC's of Zone Inderwal.

During the meeting, Mr. Jaffer Haider Sheikh addressed various key points concerning the enhancement of sports activities in Zone Inderwal. These included discussions on the annual calendar, upcoming Inter-School Zonal Level tournaments, strategies for mass participation, and other pertinent issues aimed at the overall development of sports in the region.

Accompanying the DYSSO Kishtwar were esteemed officers and officials including Mr. Shahnawaz Qazi, PEM and I/c Zonal Physical Education Officer Warwan, as well as Mr. Javed Sheikh, Activity Incharge DYSSO Kishtwar.

Physical staff of Zone Inderwal expresses heartfelt gratitude to DYSSO Kishtwar for gracing the occasion with his presence and looks forward to collaborative efforts for the holistic development of sports in the region.

Successful "Fit India Freedom Run" Promoting Swach Bharat Swast Bharat in Inderwal, District Kishtwar

Inderwal, Kishtwar on 04-10-2023 – In an effort to promote a healthier and cleaner India, the Department of Youth Services and Sports Zone Inderwal successfully organized the "Fit India Freedom Run" with the theme "Swach Bharat Swast Bharat." This event was held under the able guidance of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kishtwar, Sh. Kherati Lal Sharma, and overall incharge of the event at the venue, Mr. Ram Saroop Bhandari, PEM.

A total of 210 participants joined in the fitness and cleanliness campaign, covering a distance of 3 kilometers from TRC Chatroo to GDC Chatroo. The event aimed to encourage physical fitness and raise awareness about the importance of a clean and healthy India.

Officials from the Department of Youth Services and Sports Zone Inderwal were present to support and oversee the event. The Fit India Freedom Run served as a testament to the commitment of the community to promote a healthier and cleaner nation.
