Native to the Kongu region and revered across the state, this majestic bull is celebrated for its valour in Jallikkattu, especially in Madurai where the sport thrives as a cultural emblem.

For generations, Tamil farmers have regarded the Kangeyam as a member of their family, a companion in labour, a guardian of tradition, and a reflection of perseverance. Through ‘Kangeyan,’ Tamil Nadu proudly showcases its deep-rooted heritage, connecting the passion of the sport with the enduring spirit of its people.

Congratulations 🎉 👏 👏 👏 🎉 On 08-09-2022 at Hash Six Hotel, Coimbatore. Senior Vice President Mr. A.G. Kannan chaired the meeting and representatives from various districts were present for the general body meeting HUTN Election. In the election the following members were unanimously elected as Office bearers and Executive board members of Hockey Unit of Tamilnadu for the year 2022-2025. Mr. Sekar J Manohar was once again elected as the President of Hockey Unit of Tamilnadu, Dr. Senthil Rajkumar as General Secretary, Mr. Rajarajan as Treasurer, Mr. Sangilikalai, Senior Vice President, Vice Presidents Mr. Zubher Ahmed, Mr. Venkatesh, Mr. Natarajan, and Dr. Vanitha, Mr. Clement Lourdu Raj, Mr. Kilavan Sethupathi, Mr. Charles Dixon, and Mrs. Srilatha Rajmohan as Joint Secretaries and Mr. Thiayagabhoomi, Mr. Xavier Jyoti sargunam, Mrs. Pramila Senthilkumar, Ms. Santanavalli, Ms. Banupriya were unanimously elected as Executive board members of Hockey Unit of Tamilnadu for the period 2022-2025.
