There’s a story many of us have heard.

A frog dropped into boiling water will jump out instantly.

But if the frog is placed in normal water and the heat is increased slowly, it adapts… and adapts… and adapts—until it no longer has the strength to survive.

Here’s the uncomfortable truth 👉 The frog always had the strength.
The same energy it used to adjust could have been used to jump out.

𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 3 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬, 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝

For the past few years, I’ve followed a simple ritual that keeps me honest—choosing one word to guide the year. A practice I’m grateful to my mentors at the Speakers Tribe Global Institute for introducing me to.

That one word has quietly influenced how I make decisions, where I invest my energy and how I show up—especially in leadership conversations.

For 2026, my word is ‘𝑹𝑬𝑰𝑵𝑽𝑬𝑵𝑻’

Not restart.
Not repair.
But reinvent.

Because reinvention isn’t about abandoning experience or legacy. It’s about upgrading leadership thinking in a world where talent expectations, workplace dynamics and business realities have fundamentally shifted.

In my work with Leaders, Teams and Organizations, I see this pattern repeatedly:

► High-performing leaders who are respected, yet not influential

► Capable managers promoted, but unprepared for people leadership

► Organizations with strong results, yet declining engagement and trust

The uncomfortable truth?

“What got us here won’t take us forward.”

We dived deep into the principles and elements of design, explored the science behind style and decoded the art of personalized recommendations. Each day unfolded new perspectives — from understanding face shapes and body proportions to blending client preferences with fashion aesthetics.

What made this experience truly special was the hands-on learning — participants didn’t just learn theory, they applied it live on the floor, curating real-time looks that reflected each customer’s individuality and confidence. Is Modernization Muzzling the Basics?

At a recent event I curated, I had hired a photographer to capture the highlights—the speakers, the audience energy, the moments that matter. Imagine my surprise when I saw… nothing but quick clips for Instagram Reels. No full-frame moments. No powerful poses. Just bite-sized snippets.

When I asked, he casually replied, “I wasn’t told to click pictures. I just take snippets for reels… that’s what’s trending.”

Wait. What?

Since when did the role of a photographer become limited to chasing trends, not preserving moments?

This incident left me deeply thinking:�Are we so consumed by what’s viral that we’re forgetting what’s vital?

As someone who trains and coaches in the corporate space, I can’t help but draw a parallel. I’ve seen it in teams too:

* Pitch decks with glitzy templates but missing content.
* Communication that's flashy but lacks depth.
* Leaders chasing visibility without anchoring credibility.

In a world hurtling towards the next big thing, the basics—clarity, commitment, and craftsmanship—are quietly becoming casualties.

"Modernization is not the villain. But dilution of fundamentals is."

As professionals, we must ask:�Are we confusing visibility with value?�Are we losing substance in the name of style? Let’s not forget—reels may get you reach, but real work gets you respect.

It was an engaging and insightful day conducting a POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) workshop for the dynamic team at Cloud Armour IT Infrastructure.

I recently gave my car for servicing. Smooth process, no complaints there.

But what followed was… intense.

Within an hour of getting the car back, I had multiple follow-up calls. And then came the message:

“Please give us a 10-star rating. Anything less is not acceptable.”

Wait, what?

That got me thinking…

** Are we really collecting feedback - or just chasing favourable data?

** Is this about improvement or about ticking a box?

** And more importantly - how honest is feedback when people feel pressured to respond a certain way?

As someone who’s deeply involved in training and coaching, I find this both amusing and concerning. Feedback, when genuine, is gold. But when it’s staged, it’s just glitter.
