Based on the TCS 10K run experience.An appeal to all runners out there.
If runners behave appropriately, Post run of TCS 10K situation can be handled more effectively. The support personnel is sent out to clean up the trash at various water and hydration stations. However, several of the runners who took part in the race behaved irresponsibly and threw water bottles and wrappers all over the route. Bottles were everywhere on the sidewalk, while chocolate and energy gel wrappers covered the streets.
What will happen if the sewer route is blocked by all those bottles and wrappers. Rainwater will become clogged during rain and the water will overflow onto the roads. Everyone will suffer as a result of a few runners' behaviour and everyone will complaint/Blame the authorities for clogging and rain water on the roads.
Being responsible and accountable is the first lesson a runner should learn.We care about our health, but not the environment.
