Shri Babul Das, a respected folk artist and Bayan from Sivasagar district, lost his precious Khol in the floods. As part of NAAT Foundation's flood relief initiative, our team member Sanjib Das reached out to him and handed over a new Khol on behalf of the Foundation. We hope this gesture helps him continue his musical and cultural journey. We again thank all the donors who contributed to our fundraiser.

This year’s devastating floods in Sivasagar took away not just homes, but also livelihoods. Shri Punananda Borah, a traditional Bhaona costume artist, lost most of his costumes, creations and tools in the floods. As part of our flood relief initiative, NAAT Foundation has extended a cheque of ₹15,000 to support him in rebuilding his livelihood and continuing his work as a traditional artist. We hope this contribution helps him take the first steps towards starting again.

Continuing our flood relief efforts, NAAT Foundation provided ₹15,000 in livelihood support to traditional sculptor and mask maker Arun Borah from Sivasagar, whose tools and artworks were lost in the floods. The cheque was handed over by our team member Sanjib Das.

In the final phase of our flood relief efforts, NAAT Foundation provided ₹15,000 in livelihood support to Arun Borah, a traditional sculptor and mask maker whose tools and artworks were destroyed in the floods. The cheque was handed over by our team member Sanjib Das.
We hope this support marks the beginning of his journey towards recovery and renewed livelihood. Thanks again to our donors who made this initiative possible.

As part of our flood relief work, we are reaching out to folk artists in Sivasagar district whose livelihoods have been devastated by the recent floods. Arun Borah, a sculptor and traditional mask maker, lost all his tools and many of his handcrafted creations in the flood. Punananda Borah, who makes Bhaona costumes for traditional performances, also lost most of his belongings and the materials he depends on for his work. For these artists, the floods did not just damage their homes, they took away the very tools of their livelihood. We thank our team member Sanjib Das of Sivasagar for helping us reach out to them.

Mattresses, pillows, and bedsheet/pillow cover sets for 40 flood-affected families in Jorhat have been purchased.

As part of the relief initiative supported through the Art for People Puppet Show and Cultural Evening fundraiser, PuppetPeople Assam, the puppetry wing of NAAT Foundation, contributed towards purchasing the mattresses and pillows, while NAAT Foundation purchased the bedsheets and pillow covers from Fancy Bazaar.

Our heartfelt thanks to Samir Sankar D Baruah dada for his untiring efforts in coordinating this support. We are also grateful to the shopkeepers in Fancy Bazaar for helping us with discounts, and to Amlan Khound dada, owner of Trinayan, for arranging to transport the items from Guwahati to Jorhat free of cost through his daily bus service.

Thank you to everyone who donated and supported the fundraiser. We are still trying to raise more funds, as there are many more families yet to be reached.
