♟️ A Moment to Think. A Moment to Connect.

On 14 August 2026, we continued our Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) initiative with an engaging session for the students of Hanchara HS School, Sivasagar, in association with MYND Foundation.

Through chess, conversations, and interactive activities, the session created a space for students to learn, express themselves, connect with one another, and experience the joy of play during challenging times.

On 13 August 2026, Pawns to Kings, in association with MYND Foundation, held a dedicated session for boys under our Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) initiative during the Assam Floods 2026.

📍 Aaroti Bhawan, Sivasagar

The session used chess and meaningful interaction to encourage focus, expression, connection, and resilience during a challenging time.

On 12 August 2026, Pawns to Kings, in association with MYND Foundation, conducted a dedicated session for girls as part of our Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) initiative during the Assam Floods 2026.

We are delighted to announce the partnership between Pawns to Kings and the MYND Foundation to bring chess education to 200+ schools across Assam.

Together, we will take our "From Screens to Squares" movement to classrooms across the state, inspiring children to think, create, and connect beyond screens through the power of chess.

The initiative will also introduce our comic-style Chess Training Book, supported by multilingual animated learning videos in English, Assamese, Hindi, Bengali, Meitei, and Kuki, making chess engaging, accessible, and enjoyable for every child.

Together, we're building stronger minds, one move at a time.

Pawns to Kings Announces the Launch of Project PeaceBoard for Manipur this International Chess Day—an initiative dedicated to bringing hope, healing, and learning to children living in relief camps through the power of chess.

With Project PeaceBoard, Pawns to Kings embarks on a new journey to reach children across all 16 districts of Manipur through chess education, multilingual learning resources, and community outreach.

By introducing animated chess lessons in Kuki and Meitei, alongside other regional languages, we hope to make learning more accessible, inclusive, and meaningful for every child.

International Chess Day 2026 | Every Move Creates a Better Tomorrow

This International Chess Day, Pawns to Kings celebrated chess not just as a game, but as a powerful tool for education, inclusion, and positive social change.

As part of our movement, we brought together educators, policymakers, psychologists, parents, and young minds to start an important conversation on promoting healthier screen habits and encouraging children to engage in activities that foster critical thinking, creativity, and meaningful human connections.

A key highlight of the celebration was the launch of our comic-style Chess Training Book, complemented by animated learning videos in English, Hindi, Assamese, and other regional languages. By blending storytelling, illustrations, and engaging characters, we are making chess fun, accessible, and easy to learn for every child—regardless of language or background.

The event also marked the beginning of the next phase of our journey, as we work towards taking chess education to schools across Assam and to children in rehabilitation and relief centres in Manipur, ensuring that the game becomes a medium for learning, resilience, and hope.

Because for us, chess is more than 64 squares—it is a way to inspire young minds, strengthen communities, and create meaningful change.
