SABA, Selection trials for the 5th Under-15 Sub Junior Boys & Girls National Boxing Championship for upcoming National Championship to be held at Jalandhar , Punjab from 22nd June -30th June 2026 was organized today ies 10th of June 2026 at white Hall , Gangtok.Young boxing talent from across the district competed across various weight catgories.

Based on performance, fitness, and technical assessment, the following boxers (6 Girls & 9 boys)
have been selected to represent their respective weight categories.

The Executive Committee Meeting of SABA was held on 7th June 2026 at SOA office , Sikkim. The meeting was warmly welcomed and presided over by General Secretary Ms. Anjana Thapa, whose gracious address set a positive tone for the proceedings.
President SABA, Shri Jaslal Pradhan (Arjuna Awardee), in his inspiring address, extended a heartfelt welcome to the executive members of the newly formed Geyzing District Boxing Association (Gyalshing District) and congratulated them on this commendable achievement. He wished them the very best in their endeavours toward the development of boxing in the district.

In a significant and momentous gesture, Mr. Dorjee Dadul Pulger, President of the Gangtok District Boxing Association (GDBA), formally submitted the Registration Certificate of the association to SABA President Shri Jaslal Pradhan. This formal submission marked the official recognition of GDBA under the aegis of SABA and was received with great appreciation and applause by all present.
All agenda items were discussed by the executive members in a fruitful and constructive manner, and unanimous decisions were arrived at on all matters. The meeting concluded on a positive note with best wishes from the President to all members.

The Sikkim Amateur Boxing Association (SABA) proudly congratulates its eight talented young boxers, comprising four women and four men, who have proceeded to Guwahati, Assam, to participate in the prestigious 8th Youth (U-19) Men’s & Women’s National Boxing Championship – 2026 from 12th of April -20th April 2026.
This championship is a significant national platform for emerging boxing talent from across the country, and SABA is proud to send a strong contingent to represent the state with pride, discipline, and determination.

Six Young Boxers from Sikkim to Compete at the 9th Elite Men’s & Women’s Boxing Championship

The Sikkim Amateur Boxing Association is proud to announce that six promising boxers from Sikkim, including three men and four women, will represent the state at the 9th Elite Men’s & Women’s Boxing Championship, scheduled to be held from 4th January 2026 to 10th January 2026 at Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The selected boxers and their respective weight categories are as follows:

Women Boxers:
1. Yasika Rai – 45–48 kg
2. Prava Gajmer – 48–51 kg
3. Ritika Kri Gupta – 51–54 kg
4. Pema Ongmu Bhutia – 70–75 kg

Men Boxers:​
5. Pravin Chettri – 60–65 kg
6. Jayant Dagar – 65–70 kg

The team will be led by the Chief Coach of the State, Ms. Sandhya Gurung, a Dronacharya Awardee, whose guidance and experience continue to inspire and shape the future of boxing in Sikkim. The contingent will also include Official Mr. Pritam Shilal and Team Manager Mr. Karan Chettri, who will accompany and support the athletes throughout the championship.

This prestigious national-level championship, organized under the aegis of the Boxing Federation of India, will see participation from elite boxers across the states. The selection of these athletes reflects their hard work, discipline, and consistent performances at various levels of competition.
The Sikkim Amateur Boxing Association extends its heartfelt best wishes to all the boxers and officials and expresses confidence that the team will perform with determination, sportsmanship, and pride, bringing honour to the state.
