Parang Pinas lang!

This remote group of islands on the southernmost seas of India is an undiscovered gem. Andaman & Nicobar islands is a union territory made up of 572 islands, at the junction of the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman sea.

In 1858, the British established a colony at the capital of Port Blair. The primary purpose was to set up a penal colony for criminal convicts from the Indian subcontinent. Cellular jail still stands, as well as several abandoned gallows on Bose Island, which has since been inhabited by forest growth and wild indigenous deer.

The Andaman islands are actually geographically closer to South East Asia as Indonesia, Thailand and Myanmar are its seaside neighbors. It is also home to Sentinel island, where an uncontacted tribe of people live.

It reminds me of Boracay, 20 years ago before all the malls and five-star hotels. The main highway is right next to the bay, which is very similar to Dumaguete. And just like Bohol, there is an option to go the hills or to the sea.

Commercial tourism is only developing now. There are no establishments when visiting the beach, unlike the Philippines where you can find a restaurant or a PADI shop close by.

Personally, I hope it stays this way! If you really are a beach lover, I think you’ll agree 😉🌊🏝 🌞
