"The last battle"
Grand Finale of SPL season -8 was between Sirubari and Lepcha Gawn.
Today's final ceremony was started by welcoming to our Chief guest Mr.Alok Kanta Mani Thulung a renowned leader of hills and special guest Mohan chettri president of Singla Bazar and followed by our local guests with the rosette and an enticing dance of child Bleza Rai.
After the welcoming dance, Umpires Nidu Rai and Abinash Limbu called the both captains for the final toss and Lepcha Gawn winning the toss decided to bat first.
Lepcha Gawn Openers Eden Lepcha and Anesh Chettri gave good start to their team,though they built good partnership but they were not able to hit big shots but after the fall of Anesh wicket Sonam Lepcha who came to bat from Lepcha Gawn team started to accelerate the score of the team.Sonam with his some massive sixes and some wonderful shots of his teammates Lepcha Gawn were able to make huge total of 98 runs in 15 overs.
Before the second inning started our beloved brother and a famous singer of our area Virat Limbu entertained our guests with his lovely voice and song,after the song the dance of Barsha Rai poured more energy to our players and cricket lovers who had come to see the final battle .
Sirubari with their positive mindset came to chase the total of 98 runs. Aniket Chettri a young and big hitter of Sirubari faced the opener bowler Awgat Lepcha but the strategy and plans of sirubari went in vain when Aniket chettri was out in the very first over of Awgat Lepcha.After the dismissal of chettri ,Prawesh Chettri and Prasid Rai of Sirubari built good and most needed partnership. Prasid Rai one of the experienced player of Sirubari after hitting three major sixes who became man of the match later on not only saved his wicket but he maintained the run rate too but there came drastic change in the game when Lepcha Gawn took the crucial wicket of Prasid Rai.After the fall of Prasid wicket Lepcha Gawn was back in the game and they were looking more confident but the game was not over,it became more intresting in last two overs. Sirubari they had to score 18 runs in 2 overs to become the champ of SPL Season -8 and Diwash thapa who became man of the tournament scored 12 runs with one big six in second last over and brought hope to his team and the final over was neck to neck battle. Sirubari they had to score 6 runs in six bowls to set new record in the history of SPL . Diwas thapa who became man of the match twice in last two matches and man of the tournament of this season cleared the bowl out of fence for four and history is created. With this winning shot of Thapa Sirubari became champ of this season.
After the game before Sinensis club distributed trophies.students of Singla Tea Estate who have passed madhyamik examination this year were given token of appreciation and khadas by our dear and beloved brother mr.Pranil Limbu who is also the youth president of Tukvar Samasty of Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatrantrik Morcha .Pranil limbu alone had taken the responsibility of expenditure of all the token of appreciation which was distributed to the students apart from it from the very beginning till the end of the tournament he has played major role to make the tournament successful.The way he supported physically, mentally,financially and providing all the required things it was earnestly praiseworthy. Sinensis club expresses sincere gratitude for his heart melting love he has shown to us .
