Budgam Clinches Top Spot as Girls’ IDPL Karate Competitions Conclude in Budgam

Budgam 20 September: The Inter-District Provincial Level (IDPL) Karate Competitions for Girls in all age groups successfully concluded at the Indoor Sports Stadium, Budgam, with District Budgam securing the first position, followed by District Srinagar in second place and District Kupwara in third place.
The competitions were organised by the Joint Directorate of Youth Services and Sports Kashmir and hosted by the District Youth Services and Sports Office Budgam, under the directions of Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K Anuradha Gupta IAS and the supervision of DYSSO Budgam Jai Pal Singh.
On the concluding ceremony, Principal Sunshine School Bugroo, Budgam, Yasmeena Jan, was the Chief Guest, while Shugufta Jan graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.
Activity Incharge DYSSO Budgam Ghulam Hassan Khanday, Physical Education Master Mohd Ayoub Khan, Physical Education Master Ulfat Jabeen and other officials were present on the occasion.
Trophies and medals were distributed among the position-holding districts and participants in recognition of their performances. The officials appreciated the efforts of the participating players and encouraged them to continue working hard and bring laurels to their respective districts.
The successful conduct of the championship highlighted the Department’s continued efforts towards promoting martial arts, discipline, confidence and sporting talent among girls across Jammu and Kashmir.

Budgam, September 19: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Budgam today commenced the Inter-District Provincial Level Karate Competitions for girls in the Under-14 to Under-19 age categories at the Indoor Stadium Budgam.
District Treasury Officer Budgam Ms. Shadab Makhdoomi attended the inaugural ceremony as the Special Chief Guest and formally declared the competitions open. She was accompanied by DYSSO Budgam Shri Jai Pal Singh and Senior PEL Abdul Lateef Rather Activity Incharge Dysso Budgam Ghulam Hassan Khanday Physical And Education Master Mohd Ayoub Khan.
The championship has brought together young female karate players from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir, offering them an important platform to compete at the provincial level and display their sporting abilities. The event is also aimed at providing participants with valuable exposure to competitive sports while promoting discipline, confidence and sportsmanship.
Organised as part of the department's continued efforts to promote sports among students, the competitions seek to encourage more girls to take up sporting disciplines and pursue excellence through regular participation in competitive events. The athletes will get an opportunity to test their skills against players from different districts and gain experience that can contribute to their future sporting development.
Officials highlighted that participation in sports plays an important role in the overall development of young students by fostering physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, confidence and a healthy competitive spirit.
The commencement of the provincial-level karate competitions is another step towards creating stronger sporting opportunities at the grassroots level and encouraging increased participation of girls in sports across Jammu and Kashmir.
