*One India – One Federation:* A New Era for Pickleball in India
In a landmark move to unify and strengthen the sport of pickleball in India, the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) and the All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) have announced their merger. This merger signifies a major step towards fostering greater collaboration, development, and promotion of pickleball across the nation. The decision to merge stems from a shared vision of expanding the sport's reach and providing better resources and opportunities for players at all levels.
This unification sends a powerful message to international pickleball organizations about the significance of unity and collective growth in the sport. By combining efforts, the newly unified All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) aims to enhance the quality of coaching, organize more competitive tournaments, and increase participation from grassroots to elite levels.
"We are thrilled to announce the merger of the Indian Pickleball Association into the All India Pickleball Association," said Arvind Prabhoo, President of AIPA. "This unification will bring together the strengths and expertise of both organizations, enabling us to work more efficiently towards our common goals of promoting and growing pickleball in India. It will also help in pushing the game to the Olympics."
Rajath Kankar, Secretary of IPA, added, "We believe that this merger will open up new avenues for the sport and provide a solid foundation for the future of pickleball in India. We are excited about the possibilities and are confident that this collaboration will lead to greater achievements for Indian pickleball. This merger will open the door for government recognition and help grow the sport immensely.”
The merger is expected to streamline administrative processes, allowing for more effective management and allocation of resources. It will also facilitate better communication and coordination among regional pickleball associations, ensuring a more cohesive approach to the sport's development.
As part of this merger, all existing members of the IPA will automatically become members of the AIPA, enjoying the benefits and opportunities provided by the national body. The AIPA will continue to uphold its commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and fair play, ensuring that pickleball remains accessible and enjoyable for all.
