In the semifinal clash, MCC Verinag defeated Batagund Tigers by 43 runs to secure a place in the final.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, MCC Verinag posted a competitive total of 171 in 20 overs, powered by a superb 70 (50) from Masroor (Man of the Match) and a solid 56 (31) from Junaid Manzoor

In response, Batagund Tigers were bowled out for 128 in 17.5 overs. The bowling unit was exceptional, with Iflaq claiming 3 crucial wickets, supported well by the rest of the attack.

With this victory, MCC Verinag advances confidently to the tournament final.

The State of Cricket in Kashmir: A Cry for ReformIt's heartbreaking to see how the charm of cricket in Kashmir has been hijacked by organizers who seem more interested in profit than the sport itself. The so-called leagues have become a means to loot passionate young players, demanding exorbitant fees that many simply cannot afford. The dream of playing cricket is turning into a nightmare, as it's becoming easier for our youth to fall into the trap of drugs than to arrange the ransom required to play the game they love.The basic motto of sports has always been to keep youth away from harmful influences like drugs. However, the current scenario is so bleak that consuming drugs has become a cheaper alternative to participating in a game of cricket. This is a devastating reality that we cannot afford to ignore. The very purpose of sports is being lost, and the consequences are dire for our young generation.What’s even more troubling is the absolute silence from the government and social activists. It's disheartening that no one has given serious thought to this issue because it doesn’t bring the fame or recognition that other causes do. This apathy is allowing a noble endeavor like sports to be twisted into a commercialized burden, driving our youth further away from its intended benefits.It's time we speak up and demand a change.
