2025 7th World Weight Class Karate Championship

The World Weight Class Championship, held once every four years as the "World Championship for Weight Classes," is the second largest and most prestigious tournament in the Kyokushin Kaikan after the Open Weight Class World Championship, and strong athletes selected from the International Karate Federation (IKO) in each country and region will compete in a tournament format for four men's and three women's weight classes. A little different from the open weight class, it is expected to be a thrilling battle full of speed and many exchanges of brilliant techniques that can only be seen between athletes of almost the same weight.

IKO Kyokushin rules (Direct strikes with bare hands and feet are allowed, however, manual attacks to the face or throat are illegal)

Tournament format for each weight class
Men's
lightweight (-70kg) / middleweight (-80kg) / light heavyweight (-90kg) / heavyweight (+90kg)
Women's
lightweight (-55kg) / middleweight (-65kg) / heavyweight (+65kg)
