It is difficult to find a cricket fan who does not know Harsha Bhogle and Simon Dooley! Cricket comes to life through their commentary! Well, CAB is in a bad mood. Instead of admitting that home advantage is a thing, the officials started talking on behalf of the pitch curator to cover up their own mistakes. And as a punishment for telling the truth, a letter has been sent to the BCCI and the IPL committee, issuing a fatwa that Harsha and Simon should not enter Eden for the rest of the IPL matches. Although neither Harsha nor Simon has come to Eden yet and will not be coming for today's match. It is heard that the BCCI will judge this in May itself.
But, the point is, will we not get any facilities in the field where we pay more than crores of rupees to play every match? It is not an unfair demand, everyone wants home advantage on their own ground. Why is there hypocrisy in our case? It is clear that a very dirty game is going on. And the victims are KKR, outspoken people like Harsha and Dull! How long will this continue? Only CABE can answer this.

হর্ষা ভোগলে এবং সাইমন ডুলকে চেনেন না এমন ক্রিকেটপ্রেমী খুঁজে পাওয়া দুষ্কর! তাঁদের ধারাভাষ্যে প্রাণ পায় ক্রিকেট! কিন্তু, সেই দুজন পোড় খাওয়া ধারাভাষ্যকারের উপর এভাবে নিষেধাজ্ঞা আরোপ করা হবে তা বোধহয় তাঁরা নিজেরাও জানতেন না! ব্যাপারটা পরিষ্কার করে বুঝতে গেলে কিছুদিন পিছিয়ে যেতেই হবে।
আরসিবির বিরুদ্ধে ম্যাচ শেষে পুরোপুরি অভিযোগের সুরে না বললেও কিছুটা অভিমানের সুরে কেকেআর অধিনায়ক অজিঙ্কা রাহানে বলেছিলেন, "পিচে স্পিনাররা সাহায্য পাচ্ছে না।" অর্থাৎ, তিনি কি বলতে চেয়েছিলেন একেবারে বোকা না হলে বোঝা সম্ভব। সেই কথা নিয়েই লেগে গিয়েছিল কেকেআর এবং বাংলার ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের মধ্যে। আর পিচ কিউরেটর সুজন বাবু পরিষ্কার বলেছিলেন, "পিচকে কিছুতেই পুরোপুরি ঘূর্ণি করে দেওয়া সম্ভব নয়। অন্তত আমি যতদিন আছি ততদিন তো করবোই না!" দাম্ভিকতা চুঁইয়ে পড়েছিল তার সেই কথার মধ্য দিয়ে।
তখন এক ক্রিকেট ওয়েবসাইটে সাইমন বলে দেন, ‘‘স্টেডিয়াম ফিজ না দেওয়ার পরেও যদি হোম গ্রাউন্ডের কিউরেটর ফ্র্যাঞ্চাইজির পছন্দ মতো পিচ না দিতে চান, তা হলে ঘরের মাঠ পালটে ফেলুক সেই ফ্র্যাঞ্চাইজি! আর কিউরেটের কাজ খেলা নিয়ে মতামত দেওয়া নয়। তার জন্য তিনি টাকা পান না!’’ হর্ষও তখন একই সুরে বলেন, ‘‘যখন একটা টিম হোম গ্রাউন্ডে খেলছে, তখন ঘরের মাঠে খেলার সুযোগ-সুবিধে তাদের পাওয়া উচিত। ওরা বোলারদের জন্য পিচ চাইছে, সেটা ওদের পাওয়া উচিত। ইডেন কিউরেটর কী বলেছেন, দেখেছি আমি। আমি কেকেআর শিবিরে থাকলে, ওঁর মন্তব্য শুনে অত্যন্ত হতাশ হতাম। আমি তো একশো কুড়ি রানের সারফেস চাইছি না। আমি এমন পিচ চাইছি, যেখানে বোলাররা ম্যাচ জেতাতে পারে। কিন্তু উনি যে বলেছেন, সরি আমার পক্ষে অমন পিচ তৈরি করা সম্ভব নয়, এটা মানা যায় না।’’
ব্যাস্, আঁতে ঘা লাগে সিএবির। হোম অ্যাডভান্টেজ বলেও যে একটা জিনিস হয় তা স্বীকার না করে উল্টে নিজের দোষ ঢাকতে গিয়ে পিচ কিউরেটরের হয়ে কথা বলতে শুরু করে কর্তাব্যক্তিরা। আর সত্যি বলার শাস্তি স্বরূপ বিসিসিআই এবং আইপিএল কমিটির কাছে এই আইপিএলের বাকি ম্যাচে যাতে হর্ষা ও সাইমন ইডেনে না ঢোকে তার ফতোয়া জারি করে চিঠি পাঠানো হয়েছে। যদিও এখনো পর্যন্ত হর্ষা বা সাইমন কেউই ইডেনে আসেনি এবং আজকের ম্যাচে আসছেনও না। মে মাসেই বিসিসিআই এর বিচার করবে বলে শোনা যাচ্ছে।
কিন্তু, কথাটা হচ্ছে আমরা যে মাঠে প্রতিটি ম্যাচ খেলতে কোটি টাকার উপরে দিই সে মাঠে আমরা কোনো সুযোগ সুবিধা পাবো না? কোনো অন্যায় আবদার তো নয়, হোম অ্যাডভান্টেজ সবাই চায় নিজের গ্রাউন্ডে। আমাদের বেলায় তবে দ্বিচারিতা কেন? একটা ভীষণ নোংরা খেলা যে চলছে তা স্পষ্ট। আর তার শিকার হচ্ছে কেকেআর, শিকার হচ্ছেন হর্ষা-ডুলের মতো স্পষ্টভাষীরা! এভাবে আর কতদিন চলবে? এর উত্তর শুধু সিএবিই দিতে পারে।
