Here is the same trap again, wearing a different disguise.
I moved into a new place. It was brutal - physically exhausting, first and foremost, and emotionally painful for me and my daughters.
My default pattern: Moving is a freeze-frame where life is put on pause. There was a life. It stopped. It will pick up again once the move is complete. There is this pain - physical and mental, so I want to run away from it as fast as possible. Ideally I would erase it from memory, as it's deeply uncomfortable.
The practiced observer: This move is "life". There is no other life. I’m not supposed to put life on hold; I need to embrace the fact that life right now simply looks different from what it was a moment ago, and from what it will be a moment from now. In terms of potential, it carries that exact same vitality as any other "life".
And this pattern, which just happens to be a house move right now, would you recognize it in a different disguise in your own life?
