Amy Brophy proving that strength training is not a problem when pregnant ... In fact it has been vital for her in having a healthy comfortable pregnancy, 33 weeks pregnant with twins and looking amazing ... Very proud mammy here ❤️

I've been very lazy about this page as I prefer instagram but mostly I prefer just to get on with work and life and not have to use social media for anything other than pleasure and sheer nosyiness ..... Anyhoo ... I'll try do better ... Or perhaps not, we shall see 😁
These are meals that I made over a period of months, none taking longer than half an hour tops to prepare and cook .... Getting your food right is always the bigger part of the battle.... Eat right and move more ... Guaranteed results...

October 2024 ..... Around this time last year it was a thought I was throwing around in my mind , could I afford it, could I even do it .. By Xmas myself and a good friend had decided to just jump and book it ... Recent times have shown me that life is short and health is everything so while I have legs ..I will climb ...

Yesterday eve , I took a quick ( actually wasn't that quick , you know how you have to stop every time it's your turn to tell a story ) hike up Slievenamon with John Hickey and Sinead Butler .... Great to catch up with Sinead , and a nice way to get over hump day ...
It was the one evening I don't have work this week and tbh I was wrecked and wanted the couch ... But effort of any kind is always rewarded ... We didn't get a fancy smancy sunset , I'm not bitter or in any way envious of all your sunset photos, really ... Indeed we got clouds and a biting breeze at the top ... But we did have laughs, chats and fresh air in our lungs.... We all had gratitude that our bodies are fit and healthy and allow us to hike.... There are so many who can't do this... I'll never take it for granted .. So while my photos might be a tad mediocre, indeed our hike was not, and we all went home tired and content ... Least, I did anyway !!!!

Friday's I'm in love .....
Actually, far from it ... Really would have preferred to vegatate on the couch this evening but pushed myself downstairs and into the gym ....
I'm delighted I did.... Motivation and eagerness to workout aren't always there, in fact ... most times they aren't.....I just did it because it was part of my plan for today ... I write it down and then I'm committed to it ,I never regret it and I always feel better for it ...

Amid all of this, she was forced to have an emergency c-section seven months into her pregnancy because of a potentially life-threatening condition and her baby had to live for more than a month in the NICU. But two years later she’s qualified for her fifth Olympics with her daughter watching.

Felix dropped Nike and created her own brand of running shoes, the Saysh One. She is currently running in the Olympics in Japan wearing them under the banner “I Know My Place”. 😏

With 11 medals now, she passed Carl Lewis this summer for the most track and field medals by an American in history!

Strength and fitness comes in many forms and shapes.... I'm probably the heaviest I've been in a while , I'm also the fittest and strongest I've ever been ... At almost 52 years of age it blows my mind that my body is far more capable than I had ever imagined .... It annoys me when people say she's obsessed or she never goes out anymore , she doesn't drink and she's no fun ... Just because I don't fit the idea you have of me doesn't mean I'm unhappy, I'm pretty sure I'm happier than most because my happy is not determined by other people and an alcohol based social life ...I found a life that has given me a real sense of satisfaction , I laugh more than I've ever laughed, work harder than I have ever worked and like what I see in the mirror a hell of a lot more than I did as a younger woman .... Working out, lifting weights and hiking might not be for you but don't knock someone unless you can really admit to yourself what bothers you so much.... It's not me ... It's you ..
I changed my life .... You should try it, I promise you , you won't regret it ...
