⚽ Introducing Waterford Friendly Games – 7-a-Side Football ⚽
Looking for regular football matches in Waterford? Waterford Friendly Games is a new weekly 7-a-side match organisation created for teams who want competitive but friendly games at a low cost.
Whether you’re preparing for bigger tournaments or just want to enjoy football with friends, this league is designed to make organising games simple and consistent.
🏟 How It Works
• Each team will normally receive 1 organised game per week
• Teams can request more than 1 game per week if they wish
• Teams can play as hosts or visitors
💰 Match Fees
• Host Team: Pitch booking
• Visitor Team: €35 per match
🏠 Host Responsibilities
• Have regular bookings at an astro pitch in Waterford
• Provide a referee (anyone with knowledge of 7-a-side rules — a professional referee is not required)
🚗 Visitor Responsibilities
• Travel to the match
• Arrive on time to avoid penalties
⚠️ Late Cancellation Rule
If a team cancels at late notice, they will be charged €30, that means a deposit of €30 will be necessary
• The money will go to the opponent team affected, or
• To a replacement team that steps in on short notice.
📝 After Each Match
Both teams will submit:
• The final score
• A review of the referee, pitch conditions, and host reception
Good reviews help maintain fair play and ensure teams continue getting games.
📊 Results & Table
• All results will be added to a league table
• The table will be posted on Facebook in the beginning
• An app is planned for near future
ℹ️ The table is only to show the level of teams — there are no prizes or awards.
👥 Players
Players are allowed to play for more than one team if they wish.
