Calling all healthcare professionals, policymakers, people with intellectual disabilities, families, and supporters!

A one-hour free webinar titled A System-Wide Assessment of Healthcare in Ireland for People with Intellectual Disabilities will be held from 12.00-13.00pm on Thursday, 13th November 2025. The webinar will present findings from phase one of Ireland’s Rosemary Collaboratory Project https://www.specialolympics.org/what-we-do/inclusive-health/focusing-on-the-invisible, which involved an in-depth examination of the inclusiveness of Ireland’s healthcare system for people with intellectual disabilities.

This promises to be of interest to anyone passionate about building a better, more inclusive healthcare system in Ireland.

🚨 Every child deserves a truly inclusive education — not just on paper, but in practice. Under the Education Act 1998 and EPSEN Act 2004, inclusion is a right. Yet new restrictions on SNAs mean they’re being limited to tasks like feeding and toileting only.

But here’s the truth: many children don’t need that kind of care. What they do need is help with behaviour, sensory challenges, and emotional regulation — struggles that can make school life overwhelming.

SNAs have always been a lifeline for these children, supporting them in ways that allow them to actually learn, thrive, and belong. Taking this away is not inclusion. It’s exclusion.

✍️ Please sign and share — let’s stand together so our children don’t lose the vital supports they need.
